Video Libraries

Does anyone know the exact amount that the WWE paid for the WCW (which included NWA and Georgia I believe) video Library? How about for ECW? Did they buy the AWA library as well?

I remember hearing they paid a small amount for WCW. I can't understand this as with the breakthrough of DVD's you'd figure so many people would see the potential of owning this library.

I'm pretty sure the tape library was included with the purchase of WCW, because Bischoff's consortium would have gained everything except TV time had his purchase gone through.

I seem to remember it being some stupidly low amount like $4Million (well, low considering) as I thought at the time, "If I won the Lottery, I could buy WCW.."...

Yeah I heard $2,500,000 as well.

As far as the AWA footage goes - my understanding is that WWE bought out footage from Gagne and some other owners, but that Gene Okerlund's kid and maybe a group of others still own AWA footage. Who knows if McMahon swooped in and bought that too though.

At least [for the time being] he can't get his hands on the FL footage, as Mike Graham owns the rights and won't part with the footage. He makes a good deal on it I believe, but McMahon would make 500,000 times that. We'll see in the future I guess, maybe if Mike ever needs cash, or when he passes whoever gets the rights might want to part with it.
