It's because it's pre-season in the top European leagues, and a few of the big clubs go to places like America or Asia to try and attract fans and cash in by selling a lot more merchandise.

I think it's just a friendly match, so nothing really big. Chelsea won 2-1.

Yeah they do but DC United have this player called Freddy Adu that lots of european clubs want, he's only 18 i think, which is younger than me, he might even be younger than that. I'm guessing Chelsea were using this as an oppotunity to scout him, they don't need the money, though obviously they're trying to sell their club into the American market aswell even though they don't need to.
