DISCUSSION: Batista sucks

I tried to start this discussion with one of my other threads but that didn't work so I had to use some washed up faggots gimmick to start a discussion.

Batista brings nothing to the table. He has no mic skills and his inring skills are par

At Summerslam we could have had the first WWE champion from Syracuse but thanks to terrorists and liberals that won't be happening. Hassan my not be much in ring but he is awesome on the mic.

Batista talks like someones old uncle "You...you you you". Come on give it to Orton and stop giving us crap.

Batista thinks he's flying an X-wing on his way to the ring. I think he might be gay too.

The batista character could have been any hoss.

He's over as hell thanks in part to HHH. He's got the look, and they played his Evolution breakaway perfectly and so he's still got a lot of momentum from that. He's hit or miss on the mic, but still quite green. I think it was right of WWE to give him the belt though because he got really over with it.

I think he should have had it a month just because of the angle and then lose it to Edge. (Like edge challenges Batista to a match right after a PPV match with HHH)

Haven't been that into him since around early June. I blame that more on the booking and the move to Smackdown than him though. I still like him, just not as much as I did during the Mania buildup and the weeks after.

I like Bats, but I think it's hilarious how anyone can look like the Tazmanian Devil next to Bats, since he's so damn calm. Like Xtian pacing around like a maniac and Batista is just like "Oh... yeah. Right. " and that's it.

But... I would like the belt on someone else soon. Just give it to anyone BUT O.J. Ugh, why does he have that belt still?!

Yeah, give the belt to JBL, he can be a 2 time chump, and then it could go to a face that is more beatable than Batista and I don't know what to do with Batista once he has been beat.

Batista would've been alright on Smackdown if he had been put into a feud with someone OTHER than JBL. JBL can't carry himself, left alone a 35 year old green hoss. Kurt Angle should've stayed on SD and feuded with Batista over the belt - let's face it, he's not doing much on RAW, unless you count this stupid shit with Eugene.

Batista just needs someone who can work with him and make him look credible - JBL is not that person. Eddie Guerrero could do it, a heel Chris Benoit could do it, even Randy Orton could do it better than JBL.

Batista still sucks though. I'm just thinking of ways that he could be bearable while we're forced to watch him hold the big gold belt.

Batista will most likely beat JBL at Summerslam. If he does, I want either of these guys to take the title of him at the next PPV.

1. Eddie Guerrero: Smackdown is Guerrero. He's what makes Smackdown popular. I want him to become champion again.

2. Christian: He may not look like championship material, but I think he is. He's ace on the mic. and good in the ring.

3. Randy Orton: A feud between Evolutions two former members will most probably happen. Orton would be a good champion.

4. Chris Benoit: He can face Batista as a heel, he's way above all this mid card shit. He's championship material.

Personally, I think Batista is the biggest star the WWE has. Hear me out.

Cena is a fad, he is a walking representative of pop culture, with little to no identity of his own as a character. Cena probably turns away as many fans from the product as he does keep them. People say he's the saviour of wrestling, but IMO, he's constantly on thin ice. Rap has moved out of Australia, and it is now all that punk shit that's taking over. Not many Australians will tune into RAW and think "He's cool".

Do I like Cena the wrestler? Yes. Do I think Cena has all the tools to be a megastar? Yes. Do I think Cena is the saviour of the business. Fuck no. But that's just me.

At the start of the year Batista was outshining Cena in every way. He was extremely over and riding a wave that was based on how subtle his awesomeness was. Then the WWE did the right thing, had him win the Royal Rumble, beat Triple H a WrestleMania, but then they ruined him. They turned him babyface. This is their biggest mistake with Batista.

The Batista character was always that "screw the fans, I don't need them" character, and he was over because of it. He was self-centered in every way, and it worked for him. Now he's just your regular babyface. I think Batista would be the WWE's biggest draw if he they used him as a tweener that tears through everyone.

At Summerslam, I hope they put his match on last, and I hope they have him dominate JBL. None of that cliched face is controlled, then battles back crap. Have Batista come out, kick JBL's ass, and leave. Have him come out with Paul Heyman or something. A Batista/Heyman duo would make for an interesting pairing if you ask me. The fans will eat Batista up in Washinton, and if they play their cards right they can COMPLETELY revamp his character for the second half of the year. With Eddie Guerrero, Randy Orton, The Undertaker, William Regal & Chris Benoit all to job to Batista, you can keep him World Heavyweight Champion right past WrestleMania, which is what I'd do with the character.

Unlike Cena, Batista is based around the World Championship. If he loses it there is no point keeping him on the payroll. I personally think the title should be Batista's for as long as they can without people refusing to watch SD! until he loses the belt. Hell, with SmackDown! not getting renewed in 2006, you may as well have Batista hold the belt past then, and show up on RAW claiming to be the real World Champion. A Batista vs. John Cena feud is money, and Batista playing the unstoppable force that outlasted Cena in terms of a World Title reign would be awesome to see, IMO.

That's just my little rant on the character. People will disagree and try to convince me Cena is the future, and that Batista sucks, but when you ook back on things, a lot of Champions sucked. Many more than Batista. If the WWE books Batista as a "new era" type World Champion, bringing in a new style, I think he could be the WWE's biggest success in a LONG time.

obviously i'm a big batista fan but i'll admit yes he needs mic work but i think 90% of his matches have been good with the exception of his stuff with jbl
does he have alot to learn? yes
but he does'nt have much more time left since it has come out he's 41 years old...thats what i heard not sure if it's true
he's a good champ and a top draw

me personally i think they should put the title on eddie and then have benoit win it back and then maybe christian after that

Give the belt to Guerrero. He's got massive heat coming off his feud with Eddie and has been champion as a face before, but not a heel - so it'll be fairly fresh.

Plus, if this feud with Rey goes how I want it to go, Dominik could carry the belt to the ring for his papi.

hmm the problem i think is that there are only a few heels on SD! With this problem you get bored fans seeing the same people have a match over the Belt. If there is a time to bring in some new blood in this business the time is now and use SD! as somewhat of a Farm to do so. That way the WWE can keep fresh faces and new storylines can come up instead of the whole "you beat me i want my REMATCH again!!"

these constant rematches AHHHHH!!!!

It's good to have rematches. If done properly, they can build into quite an immense feud (Rock-Hunter from 2001, Angle-Lesnar 2003) but you're right about the new blood thing. Unfortunately, this takes time and the WWE have tried this but have rushed along their new prodigees as of late with varying consequences.

For example, Brock's ego grew too large and he accomplished everytime too fast. Where do you go after you've one the biggest thing you can win in just under 2 years? Yep, thats right... the NFL.

Orton was going along well at his own pace as a heel in early 2004, until the WWE suddenly realised the Rock wasn't coming back and BAM, he's being pushed so fast down our throats as a face that we're choking on his feet and now most of us can't stand the guy!

Yeah, Punk does seem to have overtaken Rap (punks gay BTW), but even when punk was in out of all the people I knew who watched wrestling they didn't think that Cena was top shit or anything, they all thought he was pretty gay, so I don't know what to say

I wanted to Add this too. This is the 3rd of the 4 main PPV's this year I HOPE something changes and we get some new action here. Im just gonna use the 1998 (Main 5) as an example of how things could change and be bad ass at the same time

Royal Rumble::Shawn Michales vs Undertaker
WM14::Shawn Michales vs S.C.S.A
King of the Ring::S.C.S.A vs Kane
Summerslam::S.C.S.A vs Undertaker
Survivor Series::"Deadly Game Tournament Finals" The Rock vs Mankind

If they could have kept up like that then the WWE would not be a "rerun" where the same thing happens almost every week with a little twist.

About Batista:

He would make for a nice champ....if he didn't have those LAME, OBVIOUSLY SCRIPTED mic sessions. He was making inroads against JBL the week before, but this past Thursday, Batista was back to sounding like he was reading a teleprompter.

While he's not the best guy in the ring, he does make for a good "tough guy" champion. Usually, if you're really great in the ring, or really great on the mic, you make things a little more interesting. Batista, however, fails to do both. Right now, though, he's the only real big time "face" they're willing to push on SmackDown. Booker T and Benoit have been demoted, and the rest have gone either heel or to Raw. If you had asked me whether Batista would be wearing WWE gold by now when he first appeared, I would have laughed my ass off. Allenoid did make a good point about how Batista's character became too "babyfaced". He just seemed rather nihilistic in the past, devil-may-care with regards to the fans. Now he's smiling and crap?! Come on. Batista's supposed to be a bad ass, not a lame ass. Well, at least the Batista Bomb is kinda cool.

Batista would at least be OK...if he just didn't sound so damned forced.

Now as for the others, especially Cena...

I don't think Cena really was a case of "WWE capitalizing on the newest fad". Cena in his current gimmick was a total accident, if anyone remembers. If it weren't for someone catching him rapping backstage (was it Steph?), Cena would be Protoplexing people on Velocity or Sunday Night Heat, if he were even still in WWE. Cena was very much self-made..and his routine as a heel was GOLD. How many of you out there knew a "John Cena" IRL? I did. Heel Cena was a brazen "wannabe" who had some hilarious lines...eventually, his shtick (especially when he used to have the crowd finish his lines for him) was too strong to ignore. That's why he finally got a push. Christian is most likely poised to do the same; when it seemed like Cena was getting buried, he stood strong. Undertaker also had a big hand in putting him over.

Problem with Cena now, is that he's getting too generic. He's on Raw, yet, he isn't really pushing the envelope like he used to. He did the first couple of Raws but then something...happened. Perhaps the glass ceiling of Raw is slowly coming to close on him. His matches when he officially "turned" face were reminiscent of The Rock's "4 moves and squash 'em" style that he picked up in 2000. Problem is Cena (nor anyone else for that matter) can't get the crowd to care as much as The Rock did. Cena probably got the hint that his F-U SUCKED as a finisher, so in his last days on SmackDown, Cena turned it sitout. Cena probably got a call from "above" for him to stop doing that, which sucked. Cena may seem lame now, but I don't think it's completely his fault (no Snitso).

and yeah... you know I HATE the fact that Mr.

ALEEEYEEELEEEEEAAAAALEEYLEEAAA...

...is not on TV right now because of a few pussies over at a certain network.
While he wouldn't have been a "JBL" level heel, there's no denying the way he turned cheap heat into real heat. Hell, I'd like to see what would have happened if he eventually turned face. He just needed a new finisher.

Anyway, in regards with what Batsu said about Cena, I know Cena was a great wrestler just lacking a gimmick on SD!, but when he was coming out and rapping, he was a wrestler rapping, not a rapper thinking he was hardcore by wrestling. I just really hate the way he plays the "I'm so cool and everything I say is cool." card. Personally him F-Uing Bischoff made me DESPISE the character. It worked with Austin, it doesn't work for Cena. You can't go around slamming your boss down because you don't like him, as if it's acceptable and the right action to take. If Cena was still a rebel he would be awesome, but to me he feels like a conformant dressing up as a rapper thinking he's a badass. Give him ten minutes in the ring with an unscripted Chris Jericho and see how badass he really is.

Cena was great as the never-back-down heel, and it was great while it lasted, but Cena as the "role-model" babyface for the WWE just doesn't work. Give me Benoit, give me Booker T, Hell give me Rey Mysterio, just don't try to present John Cena as some kind of "good guy" appealing to the little kids, while thinking he's the greatest thing ever (John Cena the person isn't like that, you see enough evidence to tell he's a stand up guy) and trying to convince me he's the saviour of the world and the hottest media icon in the world today.

Batista, in my opinion anyway, has more depth, simply because he was like a newer model of Triple H. He beat his mentor, and they would have had a new "Game", but instead they turned him into a pussified babyface. I'm personally surprised Batista hasn't lost all his heat. Remember there was a time there when Batisa was IT. EVERYONE was talking about him and ackowledging him. Hardly anyone had anything negative to say about him, we were all on a LSB trip. It makes me wonder how iconic Baista could be now if he wasn't demoted to "Hi guys, I'm Dave" Batista. Give us the Leviathan we were cheering early 2005. Give us Dave who when confronted by someone asking him what it's like to have his merchandise outsold by John Cena, replies with "Screw the fans, I'm World Champion because I win matches".

I think the key difference between Dave Batista and John Cena, which is probably the reason I favour the Batista character over the Cena character is this: John Cena is a vehicle of the fans, promoted to his level BECAUSE he was getting cheered. Batista is a vehicle of himself, and he is in the main event because he feuded with Triple H and won. Without his popularity Cena is nothing; without his popularity, Batista is still (well should be) Batista. We just cheered along with Batista. Sure we were the ones that let the WWE know we wanted to see it, but it was perfect from a storyline perspective. Batista's reign just seems deeper than the average "face wins because he is popular" ideal.

But facts are facts, both guys are now babyfaced versions of their original greatness. I'm just personally hoping that at Summerslam, Washington and the No Holds Barred Match breathe some life into The Animal.

evolutioner has done some stupid things
Randy (the great champion I saw at Unforgiven) said (As I'm sure you all rememeber) that He wants the title, that he respected HHH in the ring, but did not respect Batista.

so the ground work (and the fact that Dave gave him the shoulder injury) has been laid for Randy to come out of no where to challenge him for the strap. With Randy as champ : Smackdown(!) is Orton!

P.s. since Orton doesn't have the belt right now:
Smackdown(!) is Christian!
