TNA Outshines WWE?
Since TNA's getting more exposure on Spike, and the WWE as a whole has gone down quality wise, do ya'll think that we could see the revival of WCW in its hayday with TNA eventually? I'm not saying they'll do it in the 13 weeks Spike's given them. but maybe if they do land a Jericho and a couple of other disgruntled WWE stars as well as keep improving the quality they can at least put Vince on alert which would make him step the WWE's game up. As a fan I sure as hell hope so b/c I'm tired of the same shit on Raw and a bad Jerry Springer show on Smackdown.

the day TNA battles it out with WWE... WWE would have to be in it's dying days and flat broke. And even then it'd rip TNA apart.

Yeah I know it's funny now, but you've got to start somewhere. I'm saying maybe 2- 5 years from now they might be able to do something. Or....... maybe not.

Yeah, seriously, it wouldtake 2-5 years of solid programming, good ratings, and eventually landing a better time slot and attracting better sponsors before they could begin to hope to poissibly dream of competing with the WWE. Right now, they'll be lucky to get better ratings than Law & Order :SVU on Saturday night.

Secondly, what ratings do they do? I think TNA will do very well (and should be very pleased) to do a 1.5 |

First off, the notion that TNA's getting more exposure, especially since it's gonna get a one hour slot on like Saturday nite at 10. Some heavy exposure there. Second, TNA doesn't have a TV deal yet. They lose. Third, the concept of landing someone like Chris Jericho is remote enough to be asinine. Fourth, there's no real competition. See the first one, about exposure. I'm sure the WWE are shaking in their boots over a show that will get an hour slot of dead time and given only 13 weeks to prove themselves. |

Their one and only chance is a full out assult on WWE for 13 straight weeks. Pull off DX type of antics, show up outside the WWE arenas talk with fans, sign all the cut talents... stuff like that. But I agree with the rest it'll never happen, not enough $$$.

Well, if they get more $$$$$$$$$, stop acting like idiots, and start touring, maybe they'll be like WCW.
As far as outshining WWE completely, that's ridiculous. |

I love that show, too. Although I'm I'm kinda partial to the original, especially after Season 3. I'ma huge Jerry Orbach mark.
But I believe anything on TV that time of nite doing more than a .5 would be considered "decent. " The crime dramas on USA usually get in the 1.0 neighborhoods. If TNA did do a 1.5 I agree that they would be very pleased. |

I don't think that it will take TNA to be a better product than WWE to compete with them. This may sound strange, but if the WWE does better ratings, then it may also boost the ratings of TNA.
If WWE could ever go back to the days when they would have like 7.0 ratings or whatever, I would have thought there would be quite a lot of 'new' wrestling fans making up that audience. Those new wrestling fans may therefore also try out and possibly like TNA too. For example, when WCW was around - I always considered WWE as my favourite brand, but because I was a fan of wrestling I also preferred to watch WCW opposed to anything else on TV for that timeslot. So, basically what I am trying to say is - In order for TNA's fanbase/appeal to improve, the whole wrestling genre would have to increase immensly commercially. |

If wrestling booms, TNA booms, that is true.
I think TNA *can* become a viable competitor to the WWE. They are not laughable. They have good talent, a good booking team and don't scrip their guys 100%. If/when TNA comes on in Australia, I for one will be watching. TNA needs to focus on making their own stars. If they are going to use older guys like Kevin Nash, it needs to be in sensible roles. Kevin Nash could join commentary for example (the guy's hilarious). We need to see good, solid matches on Impact!, tha make us tune in the next week. I personally think that they should give away an Ultimate X match on TV. Maybe Chris Sabin vs. Matt Bentley vs. Frankie Kazarian (these three were in the original)? Samoa Joe, AJ Styles, Rhino and Christopher Daniels are the main faces that are going to draw viewers back. Maybe America's Most Wanted as well. These guys NEED to be put over talent like Jarrett, etc. and kept strong in the opening weeks. TNA won't knock the WWE off their perch, but they can win a fair share of the market audience, simply because they have quality. I think you'd be surprised how many people would say they preferred TNA to WWE once they got a sample viewing of both. |

Saying someone COULD become viable is kind of worthless. I know it's more or less the point of the thread, but you talk about this company as though it's not the same one that couldn't be arsed to make its progamming watchable until after they lost their FSN deal. The problem is, you gotta hook 'em with the kind of strong programming they've been lacking. Yeah, some of the webcast shit I saw was an improvement, but I was barely interested and I'm one of those pathetic smarks who'll watch pretty much anything. I'm not really the market they have to sell to, and even I'm going..."meh."
Yeah, they've got great talent and great potential, but they're also more vanilla, with less of the colorful personas and the soap opera bullshit that brings in the casual fans. This can't be built on pure wrestling to attract more than like net fans. The upside to this is that they shouldn't have any problem getting the 0.5 rating they need to stay afloat., The downside is they were bleeding money before, this won't change things. As negative as I sound, I want them to succeed. I WANT someone to make the WWE worried. It's just not going to happen at thsi rate, and it would take less than a possibility...We're looking at "Jarrett Parting the Red Seas" or better. Well, maybe Christopher Daniels "rain of frogs" would work. Still, miracle level. That being said, I reserve judgement on how serious they are until they hit Spike. If they can pull it off there, I will give the props they deserve. But even then, they've got a long way to go even to get to "fair share," let alone competition. IF they can pull in single digits in that timeslot though, I'll be fucking ecstatic. |

Theres only one thing TNA doesn't have that could make them competition, TED TURNER'S MONEY, you can hire new writers and talent, but you cant hire money!

'TNA lacks the polish of WWE. they should stopp trying to push wrestling as a legit sprot and realise its entertainment. that is the aspect is severely lacks. te angles seem to be a second thought. The kings of wrestling...PISS OFF!.. they need to generate some waves. Do some tours , Get sued a few times - generate some interest. TNA is bland -like eating plain rice EVERYDAY

TNA doesn't need to improve it's quality, it is already far better than WWE.
