Smackdown Spoilers
Thanks to Henry Petty for sending in the following results:
I didn’t' arrive in time for the dark matches, only for the opening of Smackdown. The show starts out with Benoit vs. Jordan with interference by Booker T & Christian. Teddy Long turns the match into a tag. Booker T and Chris Benoit def. Orlando Jordan and Christian. Animal and Heidenreich def. MNM. GM Long and the Network guy announce Eddie Gurrero as the #1 Contender for the world championship. He tells Batista that he respects him and that they are going to be best friends. Eddie goes for a handshake, and Batista says, “friends don't shake hands....they hug," they embrace for a hug as Eddie looks bewildered. Randy Orton and Orton are seen with a U-Haul, saying it will guarantee his victory. Ken Kennedy gets a ton of heat when he asks what that smell is on Josh Matthews, and he says it doesn’t smell like cologne, but like Arkansas. This got the crowd really worked up. Ken Kennedy beats unannounced wrestler (bald guy with black and blue tights - didn't recognize him) with his usual finisher. Crowd was really into this guy. He got more of a reaction than expected. Nunzio complains about not being on the show even though he is the champ, so the network guy (with help from Eddie Gurrero) makes a match with Nunzio vs. Batista Rey Mysterio def. JBL when JBL missed the clothesline from hell and Mysterio did a splash off the ropes for the pin JBL recruits Julie? (girl with burn on her face) to join his team. Undertaker vs. Randy Orton is the main event. During the match, Bob Orton backs a U-HAUL up to the ring, opens it, and rolls a casket out. Match goes long. Both men are out by the casket, and it opens up to reveal a lifelike Undertaker lying dead in the casket. This really was disturbing to the crowd and to me personally. Match goes back and forth, ref bump, RKO on Undertaker, Bob Orton brings out a ref and they count but Undertaker kicks out. Undertaker pins Randy with a chokeslam. Then gives Orton a tombstone and the original ref. and gets the pin. Credit: wx |

Sounds like a good show. But they'll have to keep the quality up to attract viewers to the new time spot.

Looks interesting, and appears to be a good show in my opinion, aside from JBL and Orton jobbing.

Batista is great and all, but was jobbing Nunzio out to him such a good idea? Couldn't they have had Vito take the bullet, or Big Guido debut and have the new FBI at least get Batista down for a majority of the match? Oh well, original reports said that Batista vs. JBL last week was crap, and I quite enjoyed that match, I have faith Nunzio won't look too bad.
LOL at Batista and Eddie's segment by the way. This could be one of the better feuds of the year, if you ask me. Batista strong and powerful enough to be abke to lead Eddie around in circles, and Eddie's smart and manipulative enough to create some interesting heel scenarios for Batista, while not completely destroying his "not pissing off the big man" image. It would actually be nice to see a feud where the scheduled opponents aren't enemies until around PPV time. Eddie Guerrero attacking Batista the week prior to the PPV, finally shattering his fascade would be some good shit. Ken Kennedy sounds like goodness this week. I've always pictured him on The Peep Show arguing with Christian who the real Captain Charisma is. It looks like the WWE are being assholes and are moving the Capt. Charisma title to Kennedy, just to screw over Christian. At No Mercy, I hope we get Chris Benoit vs. Booker T vs. Orlando Jordan vs. Christian in a Fatal Fourway Elimination Match for the WWE United States Championship. I suppose you could throw in Ken Kennedy and Rey Mysterio, making it a Six-Man Elimination Match, but I'm all for Kennedy remaining undefeated. Should be interesting to see what JBL ends up doing for No Mercy. JBL, Orlando Jordan, Johnny Nitro, Joey Mercury, Melina & Jillian Hall as the new Cabinet? If it gets the tag titles of Heidenreich & Animal, I'm fine with it. No Regal or Burchill this week. I hope they aren't backing away from them. Both guys have the talent to make themselves work. No Mercy is shaping up to look like a pretty good PPV. I won't be ordering Unforgiven, but I may be ordering NM, especially if they feature their mid-card and cruiserweight talent. |

OMG KEN KENNEDY IS SO COOL I HOPE HE IS THE NEXT CHAMPION!!1111113432112
Sarcasm aside, I think Eddie/ Batista will be really cool and might even make me start watching Smackdown again. It's also nice to see Booker T/ Benoit/ Christian getting some tv time- Christian has a whole lot more shortcomings than anyone will admit, but compared to the rest of the roster I think he should be up there. I like Alienoids idea about the Fatal Fourway Elimination match. Would be entertaining, and could go a number of ways. Remember when they had that eight man elimination match for the U.S. Title when Cena was holding it? I think if they had more matches with more people, it would establish feuds and storylines a whole lot better than now. Oh yeah, and whats up with that network guy? |

Sounds like a good show, minus the whole LOD winning. Also, I don't understand why they're putting Take over Orton. I know it's standard practice to have the face prevail in the end, but come on. Also, I just thought of something. I don't know if it would work in the ring, but think about it... Have Mysterio win the Royal Rumble and fight Batista at Mania. It's a great David Vs Goliath battle. The kicker would be that Mysterio, for once realizing the odds are too great, turns to Eddy Guerrero for help. THink about it, two cards before Mania, Eddy comes out and assaults Rey, pissed that Rey is getting a WM title shot.. Batista makes the save, and Eddie and Rey swerve and destroy Batista... Meh. I'm thinking we may see MnM, JBL, and OJ Vs LOD, Mysterio, and errrr, Misc teammate as SS. |

I kinda like having it on Friday nights. Means I can watch Survivor and Reunion without having to tape them.
Good show last night. A little pissed that Orton did the job. Okay, a lot pissed, but I expected no less. And I absolutely saw the UT-in-the-casket coming. When they brought out the truck, I said to no one in particular "Wrestlemania 12." But, I guess it was 10 years ago, so it never happened. I'm really liking Palmer Cannon's role, and his interaction with Eddie was really good. Batista and Eddie have the potential to put on some excellent matches. And at the brief Batista/Simon Dean segment. Much as I'd rather see Simon in the ring, at least they're doing something with him. JBL actually didn't look as terrible in the ring as he usually does, and his match with Rey was pretty entertaining. And this new "calling for help" angle could be just what his character could use. |

I hate UPN. I won't be able to see SmackDown for a few weeks due to all the MLB games.
