Don't blame Triple H. Don't blame the WWF. Don't blame Spike or USA.
Blame the WWE. They, and only they as a whole are the source of their problems.
Yes, Triple H is a power hungry politician who makes decisions that we feel are bad for business. But who's sitting by idly watching, who's promoting him, who's hiring shit bookers and yesmen? It ain't Triple H. Yes, you're upset that UPN now airs Smackdown on Fridays and Spike screwed the WWE and USA is going to be pre-empted, delayed, and cancelled on occasion. UPN is responding, in part, to the quality of the show. Spike TV made a business decision when the WWE tried to negotiate in their interest, and ended up on USA. USA can make more money off the dog shows. If the WWE was making stronger shows, they could be bargaining with Spike and UPN probably wouldn't be moving them. Who is putting out poor quality shows? It ain't UPN or Spike. The simple truth is that the WWE is to blame for most of their problems. Blame Vince or the company as a whole, but they've put on worse shows with weaker reactions. Some of the shit I've seen around here is like blaming the arenas for not selling out. OR for them going to smaller arenas because they can't draw anymore. Why is that similar to the TV deals? Because the WWE's bringing it all down on themselves. They could put a stop to the ego-trip booking, they could fuck the politics and look at business, and they could go back to what made them big instead of hiring Hollywood writers. They could put on solid shows and try and build people up so they'd have attitude-level stars, they could put asses in the seats, sell advertising, and keep their choice time slots without interruption. But they aren't doing it. They could tell Hogan "we want you to lay down for the new talent." They could keep the title off Triple H. They could actually fill up Taker's slot with someone who isn't bordering on crippled. They could have real current stars to debut on their "night of champions" instead of relying on a hasbeen, a politicker, and an out-of-shape author. But they don't. If I were Hogan or Taker or HHH, I'd be tempted to do it too. Wrestling's all they've got, of course they want their characters to stay in the spotlight. What, Hogan's got his own reality series because of his leading role in the Broadway Revue of "Cats?" If I was Masters, I'd definitely be tempted to take a push. What, like most people are gonna say "No sir mister McMahon, I don't want any TV time, because I'm undeserving." apply that to anyone you dislike who's being pushed, be it Heidenreich, Kennedy (...Kennedy), Cena, who the fuck ever. If any of you were in that position you'd be damn well tempted. And I'd like to think I'm a bigger and better person than that, but let's face it: Even if I am, there are a thousand people who would fill that spot the second I stepped down. Each of you who told yourself you wouldn't reading this and the previous paragraph, remember that. For every guy who wouldn't, there's a dozen at least that would. Now, they're not blameless, but who has all the power? The company itself. The WWE lets all this shit run wild in their company, and actually encourages it. They go for the direction they want to go, whether it hurts them or not. They choose to run with egos before business. They've hurt their own product, and there's not a single fucking target to blame but those who are actually in charge. ![]() --John Rogers |

They are making money doing the shit there doing. Don't blame them, blame the consumer. If you want them to change, show them. Don't buy their products don't watch their shows. Money is all they see and all they care about, and they are making plenty of it. And that not their fault its yours.

I DO think that the networks are kinda fucking the WWE over a little bit. But yeah, as for taking a push, I'd take a push to the WWE main event scene if Vince McMahon called me on the phone today, and I'm not even in wrestling, so you're right about that. |

You can blame everyone technically. But for quality of show only, you can only blame the writers/people in charge.

The consumer does not realize how much power they have regarding matters like this. Sure, we all bitch and moan about how bad X movie is, or y tv show is terrible. That's all well and good, but it doesn't do anything in the long run. This doesn't just apply to wrestling, it applies to business in general. A business is run on the basis of pleasing the consumer, and what are the owners to do when they see sales numbers going down? Change things, or make them like they were when business was doing well. Obviously we know which one wwe does.
Back to the consumer, so you don't like x movie. Don't bitch about it, just don't go see x movie. Don't watch y tv show. Don't wear c brand of clothing. Nothing reaches out to business owners like losing dollars. I hadn't watched smackdown in 2 years before last month because I felt like the product was garbage. Sure, I'm only one person, but if a few thousand people felt the same way, and did the same, don't you think they would notice the hit? |

On an interesting note, this post was written today as I was not watching Raw.
People are going to act at their own pace, and obviously some will have different standards. A lot of people ARE acting. The internet folks are slow to respond because of all the time and energy they've devoted to being wrestling fans. It's hard to just turn off the TV when you're sure you could run the business in the black with no real experience. The problem with the movie comparison, BTW, is that you generally don't know if you like a movie until you've seen it. With TV it's a better fit, since you can opt not to watch a shwo if previous episodes have been bad. Now. Bitching about a movie or series can have some constructive outcome. Bitching about wrestling on an internet forum, less likely. I seriously doubt I'll change any minds with this topic. People are still whining about the WWF, when it was Vince violating a good faith agreement REPEATEDLY that lead to the WWF taking action against the Federation. So no doubt it'll be "Triple H" this and "USA" that. I just want people to think. IF the WWE was doing better, they wouldn't be back on USA. Therefore, nobody would be whining about Dog Shows. It's doing poorly that got them on a station they'd be pre-empted on again. Doing poorly and trying to play hardball. |

We as fans aren't blameless either. We encourage it. We still go see Hulk Hogan, HHH and whoever else. Its not wrong or right just the way of things. Fan is short for FANATIC, what that entails is being supportive of said group/team/company through all the ups and downs. Sure the Packers are 0-2 but that doesn't mean people in G.B. are giving up on them. My point here is that the fan himself/herself is still mostly responsible. the only way to get the point across is to not suipport the product. Sure we could all go into say S.S. with signs complaining about how bad things are, they won't give a shit, they already have our money. It may be difficult but its probably the only way to change things, especially since people on the internet aren't exactly held in the highest regard. |

Exactly, and what if that viewer stops watching, and then all of a sudden misses one of the greatest matches ever, while the rest who continued to watch saw it... And i agree with KK, the WWE are to blame.Yes HHH is a politician backstage, and has harmed the business, but the WWE didn't exactly go out of their way to stop him from doing so.They were the ones who helped him get to this position in the first place. |

![]() Go ahead, watch. You're telling them "Go ahead, take the money. I'm okay with a shitty product." Fine, whatever, you want to play the "I'm not giving them money" card, then play it. Just stop pretending we're in a similar situation anymore, since your actions still provide money to the show (Via sponsors), and mine do not. And yes. Triple H has been given a position in the WWE. GIVEN. The guy's being let run around, and oft supported. |

I haven't seen a WWE Financial Statement in a long time, but I would hazzard to guess that if they are reporting a profit it would be most likely a result of Salary Cuts and Revenues related to DVD sales. Ticket sales for live events are horrible unless they are overseas.
The problem with the DVD Revenue is that they are a result of the Video Libraries that the WWE own and as a result is a non-renewable resource for the most part. They can only tap that resource so much before they have sold everything of value to the consumer. Anyone else think that by reducing PPV's that interest would again be created in the product. Sure I believe that the PPV's are still profitable, but does it come at the expense of a rushed storyline? It kills me that the main event at "Unforgiven" ended as a DQ. Back in the day of the Big 4 PPV's this never happened if memory serves me correctly. It seems to happen all the time now. Personally, I only make an effort to watch the Big 4 PPV's nowadays. |

I just read this entire thread, and to save some people the time it takes to waste their lives on it let me sum it up...
Kane Knight: The people in charge of WWE are the problem with WWE. (A point I thought everyone knew until I kept reading...) Some Random People: You're right. (So far so good...) Other Random People: No...how could a company be the reason a company is doing poorly? *Insert random KK is a jackass statements here* THE END. No, with the time I just saved you, you should be able to not only leave a comment but also still have time to jerk off to some porn I know you have laying around your computer...you're welcome. |

If anyone in here remembers the wwf has a track record of letting buisness dwindle to almost bankruptcy and then make improvements. I don't care what anyone says either LEGENDS=RATINGS. period |
