I thought Jones was a shoe in, but then I saw that average and I went uh oh. I know batting average is not the greatest stat to look at, but I'm pretty sure he would have the lowest batting average as an MVP in history if he were to win. And in this day and age when a lot of emphasis is placed on average, I think he'll fall short.
I think Marris n '61 is the only MVP to have an average in the .260's. |

I voted for Pujols. The best player on the best team in baseball and he was pretty close to Jones in every category except HRs.

I voted for Pujols. D-Lee might have been spectacular in some stats, but Pujols was never too far behind. The fact that the Cards' didn't have Rolen for most the year and were still dominant gives it to Al over Derek.

Andruw Jones carried Atlanta for long stretches of the season. He's my pick.

Andruw, he helped lead a team that was technically rebuilding to another Division Championship. His defense was always there.
Pujols will probably win though, because there was no Bonds. |

Gotta go with Pujols here, for the reasons other Pujols-voters mentioned.
Another overlooked factor is that he drew more walks than anyone else in the poll and struck out less than anyone else in the poll (587 ABs....65 Ks) RIDICULOUS patience. |

Jones without question. Yeah Pujols didn't have Rolen but Jones didn't have much either. Only 3 Braves qualified for the batting title this year.
