BRITISH HOPEFULS TO BE GIVEN CHANCE TO TRY OUT FOR WORLD WRESTLING ENTERTAINMENT®

October 12, 2005
British wrestlers will be given a once in a lifetime opportunity to try out for the world’s premier sports entertainment brand when World Wrestling Entertainment comes to Manchester, England on 17th November as part of the WWE® RAW Survivor Series tour®.

Check back soon to WWE.com for more details on how you can try out for World Wrestling Entertainment.

-------------------------------------------------

I guess you will have to be 18 or over to try out.

But it's good that we'll see a Brit on RAW soon.

FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK!

You know if they did this kind of thing years ago i would have got some wrestling training and went for it.

I used to backyard a lot but i realised how shitty backyarding was. I mean i never injured anyone and felt pretty good at what i did back then.

I got one really bad stinger once when some dumbass dropped me spine first onto there knee - Papa Shango shoulder breaker!

I got a bad bad stinger and couldnt feel ANYTHING for about a good minute. Seemed like forever.

But yeah i wish they did this years ago because im 26 now and i just feel its too late sadly.

I wish i got the training years ago now.. so my advice is to anyone thinking about it JUST DO IT.. GET TRAINED UP AND GO FOR IT. Or you'll forever be looking back like i am now.

Rolf Harris does that anyway.

I clicked the link to where the applications can be found, and I can't find it. There's a Taboo Tuesday advert, a link that takes you back to where you just came from, ticket info for the Survivor Series tour and a wweeuroshop link. WTF?

It's a job good I don't care how I come across then. I'm 24. There are like only 2 guys on the roster younger than me.

Good money? They are paying guys embarrassingly low yearly guarantees. Rey Misterio first signed for the company for $50,000 a year (obviously he makes more now). That's a disgrace. They are signing guys to low contracts because they know most guys had dreams for working for them so they treat them like marks.

And just for the record, WWE have an office in London no more than 3 miles from my house and I was offered a job with them a few years ago. I had my own reasons for turning it down that had nothing to do with Vince McMahon. But I have so little respect for him on a business level that he couldn't pay me enough to work for him. I'm someone who would take job satisfaction over money any day of the week. I don't blame anyone else for taking work from him but I personally wouldn't.

Oh yeah, I recommended Jody Flesich to the WWF twice and Johnny Storm once when I had a contact with them (I don't now) and they didn't take them when they were injury free, at their peaks and at a time they were dying for light heavyweight talent.

They won't take anyone now.

I'm not touching that with a 30 foot barge pole, no chance in hell. I don't have a look for them, like Rob said if they don't take Jodi or Johnny or DOUG! I have no chance.

I have a feeling this could be made out to look like a joke or just some skit to show on the UK Raw and I for one don't want to be made out to look like a fool.

Although it would be cool to say just once I worked in a WWE ring....

Hey im 26 and dont care how i come across to people either!

Im suprised Mysterio was on $50.000 when he first signed with the company. I would have imagined him to be at least on $100.000 - $150.000. I guess if they wont take Jodi Fleish, Doug Williams, or Johnny Storm then unless you were either better physically like 6"5 - 7 Foot and 250+lbs then you have a slim to none chance, or they might give out a few OVW contracts to outstanding candidates.

They took Birchall if you remember, i know they've totally changed his character from monster to a technical grappler but he's still got a decent job in the end.

I suppose the WWE are looking for a special something in the first place and you'd have to be a perfect wrestling specimen to have any chance i think!

I wish i had the training though although i believe if you dont do one thing you can always do another. Its not the end of the world.

I respect your reasons for turning down the job.

I work for myself and im happy doing it so i can understand you need job satisfaction, thats cool.
