the WWE and USA
This isn't strictly on topic, but it kind of ties to the WWE's move to USA.
It seems fitting that the WWE should return to old Attitude-Era storylines in returning to USA. I haven't watched USA much at all since they left for Spike , but I flipped through their listings now and they seem t olargely have the same programming on. It's not strictly about the wrestling, but the sameness. Kinda odd, but where else is "Coach" gonna go? ![]() --John Rogers |

Well the move to USA can only help the WWE, from what ive heard Vince prefers the USA Network anyway because they can simply get away with more on TV. They seem to appretiate the WWE more than Spike too because they give them overun time if they need it and freedom with certain storylines.
Seems to be more exciting and refreshing lately with regards to storylines, i would say though that im starting to see less actual wrestling lately but i think that could change in the near future. I have knocked TNA in the past but you cant say you dont get value for money when it comes to pure wrestling matches, most of a TNA show is wrestling matches i mean they have a few promo's here and their but around 70% of their shows is 'wrestling'. Raw has had to many promo's lately and not enough wrestling, would anyone agree with that? I still believe though in the longrun you will see a lot more freedom with certain storylines and less censorship, and for me that can only be a good thing. ![]() Having watched WWE though through the Attitude Era till today i can sense its very similar with regards to storylines, the only thing as ive said is the Attitude Era had a lot more wrestling on Raw at the time. Its just something i want to see a lot more of more 'wrestling' and a little less 'entertainment' as much as i love being entertained, i still dont think you can top a 20 - 30 minute main event every week rather than some messy and quick 10 minute ending. Just my opinion though.. ![]() |

I think what i meant was more unpredictable because the storylines have been a little more risky since the move to Spike.
Its come across as a little more daring and violent in my opinion anyway. ![]() The storylines haven't been fantastic but the Flair and HHH feud has been brilliant. Im not sure they would have done the same sort of angles on Spike TV. |

I'm not seeing daring programming either. I'm seeing clichéd angles, predictable turns, and boring storylines. A well-done feud between a hasbeen and an egomaniac, or Cena doing a single freestyle (that I've seen so far) aren't really saving graces. This isn't "edgy," it's retro. It was pushing the limits of TV half a decade ago, when Michaels showed his ass on TV and Austin would stun his best friend and have a beer. Maybe I'm missing the added violence and the unpredictability and all that shit though. You wanna point some out for me? |

HHH turning on Flair i kind of saw coming but then we've probably watched this stuff for years so why wouldn't we? It was still done very well and quite violent in a way. Raw probably does have a retro feel after thinking about it, i mean ive just tried to rack my brains for some stand out events or storylines as of late, and i really cant think of many. The Austin storyline and the Triple H / Flair storyline then are the main points of my small arguement. I just feel that this kind of thing hasn't been done in a long long time and to see it all again just showed that the WWE will have more freedom and less censorship on the Usa Network. I agree though with Cena, he needs to freestyle and be controversial.. he's too much of a goody goody rapper. Make him more like Eminem or dare i say it 50 Cent, all rappers have two sides to them good and bad and with Cena all you see is a rapper who's well behaved and boring. I know he's given Bischoff the F'U' but this is like Austin reborn only your replacing the stunner with the F'U'. They need to turn Cena heel and give him some freedom with his gimmick, maybe even give him a big ass bodyguard like some rappers have or a group that follows him around. Get him iced out from head to toe and have him turn on the fans for making him whack, tell the fans he's not some Hulk Hogan Wannabe.. IM JOHN FUCKING CENA! ![]() Those are just some thoughts ive been having lately, any opinions? |

Raw right now is more 'Russoish' saving the wrestling for the PPV's and getting the storylines over on TV for more interest in peeps buying the PPV's
Smackdown is going the other way, they seem to spend more time with decent matches each week and not really that much in backstage skits and development. It's a good thing in both ways as i'm enjoying both shows (raw for the past 2 weeks has just been garbage though) as long as they can keep this sort of trend without going to OTT on the Raw front they could end with a quite a versitle overall audience |

it stinks and i dont like it. so far it has been less focus on wrestling; less focus on the wrestlers; more focus on the McMahons; and it seems to be heading towards the area of no main event, but rather "(big fuckin' deal) Steve Austin will be here tonight!!!" and for the main event, SCSA clears the ring.
fuck that. |

Not really, WWE has been a mess since they came back on USA. Honestly, I've been watching it every week and I'm so lost. Just what the hell exactly are the McMahons doing?! One week Linda is a heel, the next week she's hoping JR is fine?! When Vinny Mac came out on Monday, I didn't even know what the hell he was...face, heel, tweener?!
The Stone Cold match turned out to be a mess. Everything thus far is chaotic. |

I think Linda was being sarcastic.
Or maybe it was her pisspoor acting. It's REALLY hard to tell what she means, because she is like the shittiest heel ever. The rest of them, however, I can't account for. |

Like, I was so confused when Vince came out...he just said one thing in a straight manner and left....I was like wtf weren't you a heel two weeks ago? They really need to sit down for an hour and analyze their show. It's been chaotic and makes no sense whatsoever. |

Coach will probably have his jaw wired shut after the slap Batista gave him, leaving Styles to do the pbp.
Besides that.....I hear OVW is doing good TV |

They better get a focus on RAW soon. The Monday Night Football games look to be very good for this month.
I watch RAW waiting for something special to happen, it rarely ever does nowadays. |

Wait. Someone getting busted open is unpredictable and wouldn't have happened on Spike? I'm sorry, that's as fucking weak as Austin's angle being unpredictable.

![]() All i was saying is I THINK it has been more unpredictable lately. Are you telling me that Vince coming back with his whole family was predictable? Are you saying J.R getting fired on live TV (as part of his last act on WWE TV) was predictable? Considering its only been on the Usa Network for a few weeks now i think ive made my arguement pretty clear with what ive got as examples. The Flair beatdown came over as pretty shocking and brutal otherwise why would people in the audience show emotion on camera? Im not just talking about the fucking internet community im talking of the effect it has had on the live audience. I agree though that Austin is one of the most predictable superstars in history. ![]() |

I think we as the fans have seen such outrageous shit (i.e. shane's balls being hooked up to jumpers) that nothing really surprises us anymore. It's come to a point where anything they do won't be a huge shock because we're all somewhat used to it. Think about it, how can they "shock us" anymore when we've seen shit like Triple H fuck a corpse?

Personally I'm not looking to be shocked, I just want moments that I will always remember. For Example:
Rock, this is your life Austin with a Beer Truck Jericho "wins" the title They still put on some great matches for free, but it seems they produce nothing that people will talk about for years to come. |

Jericho gave Stacy a chair shot to the face dumbass. And what about the Dudley Boys putting women through tables?
And I'm starting to think you must of changed user names and you have been here before because you got a little too jumpy when I got on your back. And it's not opinions when you're talking about facts ![]() |

What network was it when heel Austin was attacking Lita with a chair? I kind of think it was Spike, but I don't really remember.
