Mest

What do you guys all think of Mest?

Personally, I think they are one of the best in their genre. Sure they are pretty poppy, but they aren't fucking ridiculous like Good Charlotte or Bowling For Soup (worst pop punk band of all time).

Anyone hear their new CD, "Photographs" yet? I've heard a few tracks, nothing new. I'll probably buy it. "Destination Unknown" is still their best CD by far.

Yeah, Hotel Room is what got me into them.

Drawing Board is still my all time favorite though.

Looking for boobies. does not have that much rep yet (10+)
I love them. I own Photographs and it's just a deeper and darker version of their self-titled album really. While they have "Jaded" on their self-titled album, they don't have a track like that on their new cd.

I wouldn't even classify their last two cds "Photographs" and "Mest" as pop-punk anyway. But yeah, they kick ass, IMO.

I must get Wasting Time.

I used to really like "Wasting My Time" years ago but I haven't heard them in a long time.

Not a fan at all. In addition to the fact that I don't particularly enjoy their music, they seem to reinvent themselves every time a new trend comes along. For instance, when Wasting Time was released, ska was still fairly popular, and some of the tracks on the album have some ska upstrokes in them. Then pop-punk starts to explode, and the ska influence seems to begin to disappear, in favour of more bland, throwaway pop-punk. Now they appear to have adopted the shirt and tie image that's becoming popular among bands now. Coincidence? Maybe, but it doesn't seem that way...

Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong on any of this, but that's just the way I see it.

Well in my humble opinion, I prefer to think of Mest as simply a less famous Good Charlotte. Shitty lyrics and a boring uninspired derivative tune to go with it. Thats my personal opinion of every song in their entire back catelogue.
