Idea for the Survivor Series

Remembering the 1990 Survivor Series where the winning heels battled the winning faces in a Grand Finale match, I thought this year would be a great time to bring the idea back.

Have four Raw matches 5-on-5 Elimination, and four SmackDown matches 5-on-5. That way you would be guaranteed a huge buy rate. You could have a Raw main event, a Smackdown main event, and a Grand Finale in which all the Raw survivors would battle all the Smackdown survivors until one brand prevails.

It also gives the more underexposed wrestlers a chance to appear on the show.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

So for those of you who care, this is my personal Survivor Series card 2005, as booked by NeanderCarl.... (and assuming I can use anyone on the official rosters listed on WWE.com) and for the fun of it I've even given each squad Team Names in Classic Survivor Series tradition!!!

RAW MATCHES:-

Main Event
"THE CHAIN GANG"
Capt. John Cena, Shawn Michaels, Big Show, Kane, Hulk Hogan
vs
"TEAM ANGLE"
Capt. Kurt Angle, Edge, Chris Masters, Lance Cade, Trevor Murdoch

"THE GAME'S MASTERS"
Capt. Triple H, The Coach, Carlito, Gregory Helms, Gene Snitsky
vs
"THE NATURE BOYS"
Capt. Ric Flair, Stone Cold, Mick Foley, Rosey, Rob Van Dam

"THE CON MEN"
Capt. Rob Conway, The Heart Throbs, Vader and Goldust
vs
"THE LEGENDS"
Capt. Eugene, Jim Duggan, Jimmy Snuka, Kamala, Greg Valentine

"THE CLASS ACTS"
Capt. Matt Striker, Tyson Tomko, Rene Dupree, Kerwin White, Nick Nemeth
vs
"THE GOVERNORS"
Capt. Shelton Benjamin, Johnny Parisi, Viscera, Val Venis, Tajiri

SMACKDOWN MATCHES:-

Main Event
"THE ANIMALS"
Capt. Batista, Chris Benoit, Lashley, Matt Hardy, Rey Misterio
vs
"LATINO HEAT"
Capt. Eddie Guerrero, Booker T, Ken Kennedy, J.B.L., Orlando Jordan

"THE LEGEND KILLERS"
Capt. Randy Orton, Bob Orton, The Boogeyman, William Regal, Paul Birchill
vs
"THE DARK SIDE"
Capt. Undertaker, Roddy Piper, Hardcore Holly, Steven Richards, C.M. Punk

"THE HITMEN"
Capt. Nunzio, Vito, Kid Kash, Simon Dean, Doug Basham
vs
"TEAM MEXICOOL"
Capt. Juventud, Psicosis, Super Crazy, Brian Kendrick, Paul London

"THE WALK OF FAME"
Capts. Joey Mercury and Johnny Nitro, The Dicks, Sylvan
vs
"THE LEGION OF DOOM"
Capts. Animal and Heidenreich, Scotty 2 Hotty, Funaki, Josh Matthews

GRAND FINALE (Raw Survivors vs SmackDown Survivors)

Raw: John Cena, HBK, Triple H, Rob Conway, Shelton Benjamin, Val Venis
vs
Smackdown: JBL, Kennedy, Undertaker, London, Kendrick, L.O.D.

By the way writing this made me realise how slim the SmackDown roster truly is!

It would be good, but the WWE seems intent on pushing that Randy Orton vs. The Undertaker Buried Alive crap.

I just feel that why water down the Survivor Series with the kind of matches you can see at any other PPV???

It's called the Survivor Series because its supposed to feature Survivor Series matches (ie elimination matches). You can book an Orton/Taker Buried Alive match at any other PPV, it's once a year dammit, its supposed to special, not just the same.

What if this years Royal Rumble didn't have a Rumble match? It's the same principle.

That was pretty cool. I liked the idea. And if it was the 80's thats the way WWE would have booked it except possibly several matches would be taken out. I remember they showed a elimination match for free on the preview show for SS96 so you could show the HEAT/Volcity matches for free.. I also like the idea of the Wild Card that they did in 95, where the heels and faces were mixed in on teams. (it is sort of like that this year with RAW vs Smackdown)
