Just a thought...

If TNA dedicates Genesis to Eddie, is that disrespectful? I mean it is if they have like a special segement for him that is cool, but if the dedicated the entire show to him when he was a WWE guy, would that be disrespectful, or at least get heat for doing as such? I could see that it might be because he never had anything to do with TNA, and it would be an unnessicary game of one ups-menship(sp??) started by TNA.

BTW, lets not get into where do I get off deciding what is and isn't disrespectful.

Yes and no.

I could see it as paying respects, but it could also look like milking Eddie.

Not really. WCW pretty much did the same thing when Owen Hart died.
If the do tribute the whole show to him, good on them.....

And along those lines, would it be more approrate if Smackdown did the Eddie show, being that he was a Smackdown superstar? Or should WWE skip the pretense and do it on Raw because more people watch that anyways, Chavo is on Raw, and just treat him as a WWE superstar?

I think both shows should be in tribute.

Sounds like they're doing both shows that way, so it's moot.

As for TNA, I'm all for them dedicating the show to him. He may not have ever worked for them, but there are quite a few guys on that roster who he has worked with, and I'd imagine quite a few of them would jump at the chance to pay tribute to their friend in any way they could.

Eddie worked with alot of people, and I'm pretty sure many of the TNA wrestlers are feeling just as bad as some of the WWE wrestlers, so no I wouldn't see it as disrespectful

ok, you people are morons. Let me try and explain, again, so you understand what I'm saying. Though by now it is a moot point.

It would not be disrepectful if they had done a tribute of some sort, but it probably would have been if they dedicated the show to Eddie. You ever see the simpsons where Homer steals cable and they are going to see watch the boxing match for free at his house? In that episode, Tatum's (the Mike Tyson ripoff) manager died right before the fight. Then while his opponet is being interviewed at the wiegh in, his opponet dedicates the fight to Tatum's manager before Tatum could even get a word in. That is the situation I'm trying to discribe.

Now if you all still think that would have been ok, or a fitting tribute, then ok. But it seems like a prick thing to do, and I know all about being an asshole.

I don't think it'd be bad. Like, they don't have to devote a bunch of testimonials, but to just announce before the show (since it's over, I dunno if they did or not, but this is just speculation), that they are dedicating this to Eddie. Just a mention as a sign of respect.

I think that'd be perfectly fine.

In fact, this Saturday's ROH show is going to do exactly that. It's a sentimental act, and they're not really changing anything, I don't believe, but it's a nice gesture.

How is it a prick thing to do to dedicate a show to a fallen friend? Who gives a shit if he never worked the six-sided ring? WWE has already said they're doing Eddie tributes, so it's not like TNA is stealing their thunder in any way. They're just paying their respects to one of the most influential wrestlers of the last decade.

I think some forum posters are milking the death of Eddie as much as any wrestling promotion.

And I'm sorry this can't be as simple as an episode of The Simpsons, but it can't.
