No, it is not the new ECW, it is not the new anything. It is just TNA.

And to answer the topic title. TNA reminsd me a lot of ECW. The boos when someone mentions WWE/Vince, the high slying action, the great wrestling matches, the brawls, the tables, faith no more guy sitting in the front row etc.

Hmmm TNA is actually trying too make money off their new tv deal. Would ECW ever get a free tv slot, NO. Would ECW get a sponsor too pay them insane money,NO.
To be honest I was never an ECW fan,SURPRISE. I seen alot of ECW matches and they so called best matches ever and Joe vs.Styles vs.Daniels and AMW vs.XXX cage match tops any ECW match ever. |

wtf? Shut up. You're being an idiot.
ECW wasn't bad...even though I wasn't into it as much as some of the other smarks...but it was a great indy company that had great hardcore matches. To say AMW vs. XXX is better than anything ECW has ever done is just plain fucking stupid. |

AMW/XXX is the best cage match of all time hands down and the triple threat match may be one of the greatest matches ever. |

I never said AMW and XXX wasn't a great matchup...it was an amazing one...but to just say better than anything ECW has EVER done? Idk, kinda bold.

ECW did some very impressive and amazing things, sometimes enough to put them on a par with the big two (to the extent where WCW may have felt threatened) so to say that TNA offers better entertainment would be a far-fetched idea. I sorta expected this ECW backlash to come someday. It became cool to say you're a fan, and naturally, over time it's then become cool to say you don't like ECW. Just be careful not to dismiss so easily without watching classics (to wrestling, not just ECW, history) such as Malenko/Guerrero, Sabu/Franchise/Funk or Mysterio/Juventud. |

Also there are comparison between ECW and TNA.
For example both promotions have most of their shows in one place, the anti-WWE styles also both promotions coming from the NWA, and also the same exact people going to every show. It will never be ECW, because ECW was kind of a revolution I guess you could say that caught some fire because it was so radically different. I loved ECW when I was in grade school, but now looking back at it I really don't like that much anymore. Since I'm a smarter fan now I defiantly like TNA more then I liked ECW. |

TNA = ECW??? Alright, who the fuck has been getting into RVD's stash?
You guys must be fucking insane. ECW and TNA have nothing in common. Take away the small cult like fan base (which ECW's Mutants would wipe their asses with TNA's sMARKS). TNA is smart enough to see that guys like Raven, Rhino, and Sabu can draw in people, so they scooped them up where others left them dry. That doesn't mean that TNA is kind of like the next ECW. First of all, ECW took people who most American fans had never heard of and made them into stars. TNA takes stars that most people stopped caring about and made them into...well...lesser stars. TNA has created 2 stars...AJ Styles & Monty Brown...everyone else (Daniels most noticably) was just as over before he came then he was once he arrived. Don't get me wrong. I realise that over the past few days alot of what I have said hasn't been exactly TNA friendly. That doesn't mean that I don't love them. I have a lot of faith in them. And as far as what I enjoy most, which is good in ring performence, TNA does better then the other big name alternative. But that doesn't mean I think it is starting revolution. That it is changing anything about the wrestling industry. That's the other major difference between TNA and ECW. TNA copys storylines (and not even very good ones at that), ECW innovated and changed the way storys were told. ECW took a bunch of misfits and created something that had pride and love behind it. It was a symphony of heart, pure wrestling, hardcore wrestling, high risk wrestling, storylines, incredibly compelling characters, pride, excitment, sophmoric humor, and genuine emotion. TNA is high risk wrestling, fallowed by a Monty Brown squash match, and a Jeff Jarrett segment (tune in next week when he has it surgically attached to his waist). Now on to some other troubling thoughts....AMW vs. xXx = Best cage match ever? No. Best cage match of the year? Sure I'll give it that...but ever...sorry I think not. AJ Styles vs. Christopher Daniels vs. Samoa Joe = One of the best Match Ever? Depends...when you say one of the best ever...are we talking about top 10? Top 100? Top 1000? Cause it sure as shit doesn't come near my top ten...no offense. But if it is in your top ten, PLEASE email me or something so I can get you a list of matches that smoke it's fucking ass. The two previously mentioned matches are better then anything ECW has done. If all your looking for is some high flying action....maybe...kinda sort...I guess...actually NO. I have cried at the end of a ECW match...a couple of time actually. Now you tell me that bringing someone to tears (and I am not the only one) by an in ring performence is something that a good, solid 4 1/2 to 5 star outshines... Kiddos, there seems to be a lot of people making a lot of claims to a lot of things. Irronically a lot of them have to do with TNA. It is what it is. The X-Division, which is no doubt exciting, but more then that? I don't think so. If all your looking for is just a lot of fancy moves in between 2 bells, then you are no more a wrestling fan then someone who only wants to hear a promo. In order to TRULY appreciate Professional Wrestling as the art form it is, you need to know and understand all sides of it. And sorry, TNA doesn't come close to giving all side of it. So please don't insult those of us who have been watching wrestling since *gasp* before the Attitude Era. Just like I don't think someone who has been watching football for 3 or 4 years has a right to name off what the best game ever was...it just demeans everything. |

AMW/XXX though IMO is easily the best cage match ever. I have seen the NWA cage matches from back in the day and they weren't near as exciting as AMW/XXX even Benoit vs Angle doesn't compete with it again IMO. Also your right about emtion which probabaly effects your ratings (and everyone elses), but I have always been able to accpet matches without great emotion or storylines. Too each his own though. |

For the record, I was an ECW fan just like I am now a TNA fan. I like the alternative to what we "are forced" to watch every Monday/Friday night. They each have/had something special to offer. That's about it. And to The One: ![]() |

A shite company putting on shite matches doesn't really turn me on. Sabu vs Abyss. This time, let's make it H4DK0R3 lololz
I don't care if it's barbed wire or death matches, simply being counter culture doesn't make me get excited. I'm not you. |

Secondly, Benoit and Angle isn't even the best cage match the WWF has offered. You'd have to go way back beyond the attitude era and look at Bret/Owen for example. There was so much meaning, sentamentality and emotion in the match which leads to so many 'best cage match ever' remarks. So, I'm sorry, but you're talking poo. |
