My cousin got drafted by the NY Mets
pretty cool shit, he lives out in Arizona. So he went to Texas Tech for like 2 or 3 years and next season he is going to be on one of their farm teams
But............why the Mets?

My friend from where I used to live is a redshirt freshman as a punter. They tell me he'll be pro before long.

Hopefully I'll be able to check out one of his games, not sure what farm he is going to be on/where they play. It would be cool if they played the Red Sox farm team up in Maine, that probably wouldn't be too long of a ride.

I know one guy who got drafted by the Devil Rays and another who's actually playing in the Braves' 'AA' system.

Well, since he got drafted by a really crappy team, his chances of making it to the majors are a lot better.

Congrats to your cousin!!!!!! That is a huge accomplishment. I have always viewed baseball as one of those sports that the talent level increases so dramatically as you move from one tier to the next. He must be a top-notch player.

Nate Cornejo is a good friend of mine. I have know him since my freshman year in high school. He plays for the Tigers, so it might not count for this thread. Seein as how the Tigers are bearly a major league team. HA

My cousin is a minor leaguer for the Pirates. Not much better than the Mets, so I feel your pain. Or something.
I'm a Mets fan, though, so best of luck to him. I'm sure he'll be starting in a year or two. That or traded for some washed-up veteran with a pair of bum knees who tears his hee-hoo while swinging a bat. Idgits. |

That's awesome. Best of luck to him
![]() BTW, Mets are better than the Brewers, which I'm stuck with here. It'll be interesting to see who they're sold off to. I'm not a baseball fan by any means, so they may have already been. (Sore point for me, 3 deaths for an unnecessary stadium for a failing team, and forced tax increase. I'd just like to see the Brewers disbanded) |
