Wrestlemania XIX
I know there are at least a couple people who play it...Anyone here beaten the Revenge mode yet?
I picked it up used about a week and a half ago. I wasn't gonna pay new disc prices, but I did want this game. They did a lot right, but onfortunately a cuple of glaring things wrong. Thus far I've beaten most of the Construction site, all of the Mall, the first 2 levels of the Garage (That Third One's a Bitch) and most of the Shipyards. With the exception of a few pain in the ass levels, it's really not all that bad... ...Not what I'd want to play as far as wrestling goes, but I'll manage long enough to unlock shit... Also, I went up in KotR for HHH's title, and the last 3 people I fouight were Batista, Orton, Then HHH. Coincidence? “There are two novels that can change a bookish fourteen-year old’s life: The Lord of the Rings and Atlas Shrugged. One is a childish fantasy that often engenders a lifelong obsession with its unbelievable heroes, leading to an emotionally stunted, socially crippled adulthood, unable to deal with the real world. The other, of course, involves orcs.” --John Rogers |

I've completed it.
When you beat all 5 parts of a particular stage, you get the particular Boss you faced and that level is available for regular play. When you beat all of the stages the WM XIX venue appears and you face Vince. After you beat him, the Warehouse stage is unlocked for regular play. All in all, it's not worth it. If you wanna buy all the stuff, just repeat the first few stages over and over for quick cash. |

Just beat the Harbor.
That was a bitch, getting clusterfu>cked by 3 people near the door. Even worse, they were all playing HHH...They'd barely even sell my finishers. I do want to beat it for the EX special option, and the bosses. Gives me mooks to take on. Question tho. With 20 bosses to unlock, does that mean you have to go through the boss stages multiple times? If so, is it possible to do them in "mission select" instead of replaying this PoS? |

Oh, and I've got all the cash stuff unlocked except some of the move suites, which really are a pointless thing to buy. I'm buying 'em anyways, for completionist purposes, but I'm putting priority on earning ability points for my CAWs. 2 CAWS at perfect and 60 ability points to spare...Since I'll be making more without doubt.
The best stage for Raw cash seems to be the Mall stage 5...Break everything I can...7-8K for 3 minutes tops is pretty damn good. |

Yeah. How doe the EX specials work? When I rented the game it didn't come with the booklet, and I didn't go see if Al Snow knew anything on it.
Yeah, and you have to go "select mission" and replay the last levels to unlock other bosses. |

EX specials are only available once you unlock them (Beating Revenge Mode once)
Bottom Line is, they allow you a second special from a given position. However, they come at a cost...They take all three bars, and you need to hit A+B+L+R to activate your EX special mode... I don't know how worth it this is, but I think it'd be cool to have as an option... |

And it sucks you gotta replay the levels to unlock more bosses. On the upside, it's pretty easy to win that first one...
The only bitch is that no-one seems to want to sell and stay down in the clusterfu>cks. That annoys me to no fu>cking end...On theboss level at the docks, I hit each of the enemies with a freakin' finisher, and they popped up pretty damn fast. Good thing they're not as tough in normal matches...You'd never get a pin... |

Pound the fu>ck out of one until he's immobilized. Ignore him for a minute and drop his buddy's spirit by pounding away. Throw him off. You'll have one weak guy and one fresh. As long as you keep working on the fresh guy, occasionally nailing the weak guy, you should be able to stay largely one on one. Just make sure when you eliminate one, the other one's suitably weak, or it could turn back into a gang bang... |

Beat the Briefcase level...
Down to like 3 stages left out of the warehouse, and that's the sum total of the first four stages I still have to face. |

BTW, the last stage of the Construction site was a pain in the ass. They'd lynch me first time possible. Rock'd counter pretty much everything until the boss would show up. :foc:
Some of the stages you unlock might be fun in multiplayer. |

Didn't know the Rock had perfect stats (might I add, :foc: ), or that you get grunts if you take down the boss or superstar. That woulda been MUUUUUUUUUUUUUCH easier... but it's been beat already, so I'm not too worried. I totally owned the Rock anyways...(Yeah, :foc: ) Got a question, tho. They say in several FAQs I've read that in the parking lot stages, you should just avoid the ground level entirely...Do you know how? |

On level 5, I got down to one remaining opponent...Even eliminated Kurt Angle...For some reason, I jumped down into traffic when I attacked the one remaining...

Beat it three times. The EX special is great as an unlockable thing. My trick to unlock bosses is to do the harbour or mall boss stage. They are REALLY easy and take about two minutes each.

I struggled with the mall stage.
Harbour was ok. But the easiest is the construction site for unlocking guys for me. |

Pretty much all the areas had at least one level that frustrated the hell out of me, with the exception of the mall. I find the first Harbor level pretty easy though, you just spend the entire length of time beating the crap out of the workers/security and throwing them from the top level to the bottom level and you win a decent amount of cash. Especially if you use a maxed out CAW...

The Construction site frustrated me on levels 3-6. The Harbour's Boss stage frustrated me. And I just reminded myself of the cage level. The Mall...Uhhh...The closest to frustrating there was the "contract on a pole" level...It was the easiest of the 4 for me. The Parking Lot has had a few that have frustrated me... 1+2 were fine, 3+4 less so, 5 is easy (But I got screwed)... There's a flaw in nailing the bad guys in the harbor stages, I've noticed, inasmuch as the floor can drop out on you if you're not careful which moves you use. My cash levels are all in the Mall. Mostly the "Break everything" level. I used to use the "Knockout/bleed" level, but it yields the same cash for 6 times the time... |

Then I get to pwn Vince. |

The numerous chains are just a total fu>cking nightmare. Even worse, it's so simple to take out the boss--If you can ever get up there. He was gone so fast it wasnt'even funny...but it took me like another 10 tries just to get up there... The only upside is that I got the chance to take it out on Vince afterwards. Too bad he's such a f"ing counterwhore... |

Anyone actually bother with the "Bonus" levels you unlock when you beat the game? The warehouse stages, that is?
I think they overestimated the replay value of Revenge Mode. |

I so totally can't blame you.
I HATE ladder matches, and I'm not a fan of the pole/chain climbing deals. In fact, my least favorite levels involve poles, chains and other climbing matches. I can't see why anyone would play Revenge mode a minute longer than they have to. The only reason I'm still playing at all is for more cash and to unlock the remaining bosses...(Mmmmm...Jobbers...) |
