Do we need REAL managers again?

I've been watching some old WrestleMania's and I came to realize that back in the 80's, there were a lot of managers. Managers in the literal sense of the word. A manager could manage like 10 people and none of them could have anything to do with each other, other than the fact that they had the same manager.

Should the WWE go back to something like this? Instead of having a manager just manage one wrestler/stable/tag team, should they manage some heels or faces that have little to do with each other?

YES.

I have been waiting for them to do it again since the 80s.

They had it awhile back when Flair was managing both HHH and Batista... but then, as we all know, they got brought together.

But all I remember is anybody Heenan was with would get automatic heat. Just like that.

Some people could use that heat,as well as a guy to talk for them.

Two guys who I think could really use a manager are Kane & Big Show. Just some guy who can scream at them to destroy their opponents, etc. Have him act as Kane's manager, but Big Show is clientele by default. I'd also have him manage someone on SD!, just so we don't see them as a one note character. Maybe also Chris Masters on RAW?

DRBailey does not have that much rep yet (10+)
Managers are proven to help, they also do something (wow when was the last time a manager did something for his 'client' maybe Heyman was the last, or Long in some convuluted way)

Look at Bret Hart, they gave him Jimmy Hart to help with interviews till he improved and though he wasn't legendary on the mic he was definitely good enough to be a multi-champ.

We need REAL programming again.

This might be a good idea, though I'd rather see managers manage one or a group of similar people.

Would be cool. I remember when a manager was really thought of as a "manager" It came off like they really "owned" the wrestlers. The wrestlers were loyal to them because it was the manager who gave them thier paychecks, not the company (kayfabe wise). I loved how they had actual deals between managers back then, where managers would sell off a wrestler's services to another. And it was so easy to get anybody heat back then. All he had to do was help a heel manager and that was it. And when you turned on a heel manager, you were an instant fan favorite.

I think it would bring a fresh element to wrestling. Really all you have is Father Mitchell and Coach Amore in TNA managing.

I was planning on making a very similar topic. Could you imagine if Batista had a manager right now? He'd be the biggest thing going face or heel. I think since there is an influx of new talent especially on Smackdown, managers are definatly needed. Remember when Lesner was new and hooked up with Heyman, if it wasn't for Heyman I don't know if Lesner would've reached the height of popularity that he did.

Except Heyman wasn't a REAL manager for the purposes of this thread.

Fuck's sake, do people even read anymore?

Ah, the days of Bobby The Brain's "Family" or Kevin Sullivan's "DOD"

I vote YES on this topic.
