The Jobber Appreciation Thread
This was inspired by a discussion about Tajiri in another thread...
Now I know that a lot of people seem to get upset when some of their favorite superstars don't get the pushes that they feel they deserve, but in my opinion, not everybody CAN get a push. Some guys are simply roleplayers who are there to make other guys look good. Honestly, I think jobbers can play just as big of a role as superstars who are being pushed in terms of making an entertaining show. Yes, it'd be nice to see guys like Steven Richards be catapulted into the main event, but I don't think that's his place. He's a jobber, and he's a good jobber. Who are some of your favorite jobbers of all time? "Iron" Mike Sharpe was the man. |

I'd rather not see Richards Catapulted anywhere. It'd look stupid if a jobber out of the blue main evented...
...Especially the invisible guy. |

I wasn't saying Tajiri should main event, it just would've been logical to have him in the cruiserweight division.I can't think of any jobbers to mention at the moment though.

Well catapulted was maybe the wrong word, but I think you get the general gist here. You're a smart guy.

Except JBL had been Intercontinental (or European. Can't remember which), Hardcore, and Tag Team Champion before he won the WWE Title.
Stevie Richards dressed up like a girl and got hit in the head with stuff. I'm not saying Stevie's not great, because I love Stevie. But JBL's trip to the main event was a lot smoother than Stevie's would be. |

Actually, I will say that Stevie's not great. I mean, I don't hate him, but I don't see why so many people here seem to love him so much. He never really impressed me to the point where I thought he could use a push. Val Venis is better.

That's more like it.
Remember when Big Show would come to the ring accompanied by Vincent, and Big Show would be smoking a cigarette? Before the match he'd go to Vincent like "hold my cigarette", then he'd win the match and get his cigarette back before it burned out? |

I'd have to say the greatest jobber of all time has got to be the Brooklyn Brawler. I'm mean come on, twenty years of jobbing is quite an accomplishment. But my fav. has to be Chris Jericho...

Taka was great. Don't really remember if he jobbed much. I know they didn't use him to his full potential though.
