Took a chairshot at wrestling last night.....
Kind of. Towards the end we were all just standing around, one of the guys picked up a chair, looked at me and said "Wanna take a chairshot" and I said sure. I thought he was only joking, but he looked like he was serious. He told me how to do it, you tuck your chin and put your fingers together including your thumbs in front of your forehead and they hit your hands. I was scared as hell doing it and after 5 minutes, I finally walked into and he didn't even friggen hit me. HE WAS KIDDING! Bastard. He told me nice chairshot when I was leaving.
As for wrestling, I need work on alot of things, but over time I'll get it. Like Wednesday night is the only good day for me to go cause Saturday I'll be on a really tight schedual and I don't like to rush, but I've been working at like 1 sometimes so I can't really go. Last night I was doing forward rolls, you jump, flip over, land on your back. Problem with me is that I'm kind of landing on my side, like on my shoulder. I fucked up bad last night doing on and I landed literally on my shoulder and almost on my head. Another thing this kid was showing me was up and overs. You know, the thing where you bounce off the ropes, and it looks like they're gonna back drop you and you just roll off their shoulder and behind them. When they run to you, you grab their leg and you have to push them off as they do it. For me, doing it is hard cause I need to jump. There's also that turnbuckle one in the corner where you jump and just kick your feet out so the person can get under you. I have to jump on the bottom rope cause I'm short, and need to jump more. BLAH! There's this guy named Kofi, he's been wrestling for like 7-8 months now and I think they're gonna debut him next month. He's cutting a promo at a show tommorow and he's done one at the last one on Veterans day. He worked hard for that |

Chair shots don't hurt much. Don't worry about it. Especially a chair to the back, that actually hurts less then a middle bump.

Unless, of course, it's one of those situations where you don't get your hands up.

Perfect example was the last Smackdown. Batista had the chair. Kane did what you were taught, he put his hands up. Whereas Big Show took it straight to the head. |

Big Show's also a monster.
Or rather, he prolly has way more pain tolerance due to his size. But yeah, each wrestler has his own method. The technical correct method would be to put your hands up though. Cool stuff, PorkSoda. Always enjoy reading your reports. |

Kane used to not use his hands at all. Many times he doesn't use his hands, but he completely never used his hands when he had his mask because I guess it is so much weaker.

I always see them putting one hand up when they take a chair shot, never really noticed two. I'll have to look for it next time.

I would put my hand up the last split second to make it look like I tried to block it but failed (I would just take it, as long as the guy didn't go hardcore with it, then I'd take him out backstage.)

I only don't put my hands up when it looks like I was blind-sidded, or caught of gaurd. If a guy swings a chair at you and you just stare at it, what kind of message does that send to the audience?

So to those of you who take it like a man... does an unprotected chairshot to the head hurt at all, and if so, compare the threshold to something we'd be familiar with.

the forehead is the hardest part of the body, so its the best place to take one
