Disc Read Error
I get that on my PS2 on my games with the blue/black backsides only, it works fine with the regular ones. Does anyone have any history with this problem? The console IS like 6 years old, don't know if that's why though. ANY HELP PLZ?

Probably the most asked question regarding PS2s. If you do a google search you will come up with every answer you need. Short answer, the lens gets dirty and has a hard time reading discs. Get a lens cleaner, if that doesn't work, open the case and try cleaning the lens yourself with a cotton swab. Your warrenty is most likely void due to it's age so that's why. If neither works, get another.

The warranty can be void and you can still send it to Sony to have them fix it if you don't want to be like Tim Taylor.

I'm guessing this as close as I'm going to get to a PS2 technical help thread and my problems don't deserve there own thread so I'll say it here.

I have Way of the Samurai and whenever I save it and then turn off the PS2, the next time I turn on the game the actually game save is gone but I still have my unlocked swords etc.Anyone know why?

Another thing is my MGS2:Substance used to work fine. Then I dug it out and played it after like a year or two and now it just doesn't work. It wont read the disc and when it does it just does the PS2 start up thing where the logo materializes from nowhere...then it goes back to the memory card/cd manager. So I click the disc to play it and the same thing happens. I looked at the disc and its clean and scratch free. Any know whats wrong? I have afeeling its a lazer problem.

Yea, i found my problems with the PS2 is also linked to American Gladiator. I opened up my PS2 to find Lazer inside hitting the CPU with one of those giant cotton swab looking things and the theme music playing 'DUm DUm DUm dum duuum DUM DUM DUM DUUUUUM!'

Lazer? lol I didnt watch American Gladiators. I watched The UK version which was simpley Gladiators. Wolf ruled
