Is it me or were the 80s completely ****ed music wise
right, so you have your party bands, like van halen and those kind of guys, the whole hair band thing... then you have the hair bands that did all weird love ballads and stuff.. but with really weird depressing synth stuff... van halen are guilty of this on stuff like ou812 as well, but i don't mean them. stuff like journey or FM, that kind of thing.
THEN, you have your stupidly depressing bands, like the cure ( ![]() I think the really depressing stuff was more an english scene at the time, but it fu>cks with my head how different all the popular stuff at the time was ![]() I think the only reason some of the music gets to me is cause it was like... the very first songs I ever heard as a kid, on tv and the radio and stuff. I wish I was young again ![]() Also, I think synth is probably the most cold sounding depressing instrument ever, thus I want to use it more whenever I get a band going. ALSO, what was with the snare in 80s type stuff... it's like they put the most weird effect on it, all windy sounding and shit. like it was reversed, but not quite. anyway, yeah ![]() Quote:
