TNA presents Against All Odds

PRE-SHOW

Ron "The Truth" Killings vs. A1
-The Truth gets the win in a short match with a pretty ugly botched spot by A1. Killings nails the Axe Kick to regain the momentum and win the match.
-4/10

Lance Hoyt / Cassidy Riley / Shark Boy vs. Shannon Moore / Elix Skipper / David Young
-Shannon has some trouble with his team mates: after he makes a blind tag to Skipper, the Diamonds in the Rough choose not to tag him in anymore. This leads to confrontation when Shannon and his team mates begin to fight each other. Shannon walks on his partners, allowing Lance Hoyt to get the win.
-5/10

AGAINST ALL ODDS BEGINS

Match 1: The Naturals vs. Austin Aries & Roderick Strong
-A pretty solid opener to the actual PPV, showcasing four of the best young stars in TNA. The Naturals get beat down for a good portion of the match, up until they hit the Natural Disaster on Strong for the match.
-6/10

Match 2: Petey Williams vs. Matt Bentley vs. Jay Lethal vs. Alex Shelley
-Some crisp X-Division action from these four guys, and if you blinked you'd miss some great spots from Lethal and Williams. Petey and Shelley team up for a bit to keep Lethal worn down. Bentley gets a hot tag but doesn't do anything with it. Petey, Matt and Alex get into it in the ring, allowing the freshman Jay Lethal to sneak in and get the win.
-7/10

Match 3: The James Gang vs. Latin American Xchange
-Boring is the best word to describe it. Kip James does nothing to put over Homicide and Machette, making the already smaller guys look like chumps. This one drags out until BG James hits a Pumphandle Slam for the win. Konnan and the LAX beat down on the James Gang after the match, only to be run off by... BG James' 62 year old father. Right.
-4/10

Match 4: Sonjay Dutt & Chris Sabin vs. America's Most Wanted - NWA Tag Team Championship -
-Lots of psychology in this match as AMW worked over Chris Sabin's "injured' ankle. Sonjay does a lot of the work in the match, but the handicapped odds work on in favor the tag team champions. AMW hit the Death Sentence on Dutt to retain.
-7/10

Match 5: Rhino vs. Abyss - Falls Count Anywhere -
-Great hardcore match that barely saw any time inside of the ring. Both guys took some big hits and came back for more, leading to Rhino GORING Abyss off a walkway through four tables to get the pinfall and the win. Very entertaining match.
-7/10

Match 6: AJ Styles vs. Christopher Daniels vs. Samoa Joe - X Division Championship -
-Unbelievable match; you really have to see it to appreciate it. These guys pulled out all the stops and hit some really great spots. Styles and Daniels played second fiddle to Joe's awesome brute strength and power, leading to an inevitable Muscle Buster on AJ for the win. Should have gone longer.
-9/10

Match 7: Team 3D vs. Team Canada (Roode & Young)
-Usual Team 3D/Team Canada fare. The former Dudley Boys hit the 3D on Eric Young to get the win. After the match, the rest of TC and AMW hit the ring to follow up on a beatdown on Team 3D. Ron Killings hits the ring to bail them out, and hits a legdrop on Eric Young through a table, setting up a future feud.
-6/10

Match 8: Christian Cage vs. Jeff Jarrett - NWA World Championship -
-Even though it was an overbooked affair, god knows it feels good to watch Christian Cage win the NWA World Heavyweight Championship. After nearly half a dozen false finishes, Cage reverses The Stroke to hit the Unprettier and win the title for the first time in his career. Congratulations to CC. The fans in the Impact Zone literally jump the barricades to hoist Christian above their heads as the new leader of TNA wrestling.
-8/10

Overall Event Rating: 8/10
