So insert spoiler here?

Vince sure knows how to take away the value of the IC title don't he?First he gives it to a wrestler who is well past his best and hardly ever defends it, then all Shelton has to do to become the no.1 contender is beat Eugene who is now a jobber.

Now I ask, where has the journey to the title gone?Where has the seriousness about the title gone? The only way that is all going to come back is if there is more contenders which means they have to re-join the rosters, which better happen after WM imo.

Who else is pissed about Vince's handling of the IC title?I know I've brought it up before, but it seems like every month Vince gives me something new to moan about with his handling of it.It needs to be how it used to be damnit. If they don't re-join the rosters and improve things after WM I'm going to stop watching.

(It isn't a big deal anyway, it was just a boring squash match that lasted about 2 minutes)

To get back on topic (because God knows that Dickhole over there is retarded anyway), the IC title has been pretty shitty since Orton's run.

What they're going to have to do to bring any credibility back to the title is let main eventers (and not "Old Ric Flair" main eventers) feud and hold the title while not in the world title picture.

Big Show, Kane, Edge, Cena (after their WWE title feuds), RVD, Chavo, Carlito, Masters (it's about time he gets a title if they're going anywhere with him), etc, they're all good for a run and/or feud. Let it main event some RAW's and maybe even a RAW-only PPV and it would look more like the IC title of old.

The same can be said for the US title.

Finally, a decent post.Rep to you Xero, not that my rep power is that important but anyway.

I wouldn't have the IC title main event a PPV, but definately have it defended more often on PPV's.What I would do after Shelton beats Flair next week is have Chavo/Shelton feud over the IC title. As the rest of the ones you named are currently already in feuds. This could be a good match at WM and help the IC title.Or maybe even have Carlito/RVD join in the feud and we could have a 4-way match for the title, which would definately help it.

Basically, they need to get the belt off Flair asap. It was a nice idea at first, but the feud with HHH made it un-important.

Get these new guys to fight over the title instead of sticking them in these number one contender tournaments which they're never going to win. Have mini-rivalries like the likes of The Rock, Triple H, Austin, Angle, Jericho, Benoit and even before them, The Harts, HBK, Bulldog, Mr Perfect (the list is endless) that made them into household names.

They all started off competing for this title which gave them good practice for future feuds and made the IC title worth competing for.

Well the IC title has main evented SummerSlam, so it wouldn't be completely unusual if they main event it at a RAW-only PPV. Hell, Triple H main evented Badd Blood a few years ago without the title, and Benoit, with the title on the line, was put into the semi-main event.

I'd much rather see something like Michaels/Shelton (example) main event Bad Blood for the IC title than watch another Triple H match without the title even on the line in the main event.

But at least the U.S. Title situation is making it look really good. RAW's simply forgotten about its IC and Tag titles, as usual.

Then they'll prolly make something about how Flair's been champ for such a long time and pretend that's a huge accomplishment even though he's only defended the belt once.

True. At least we remember the US Title exists, the main reason IMO, is because the contenders want it so bad. Even the likes of OJ, and JBL are dying for it. And Booker T wears it with pride.

Flair/Raw on the other hand, don't even acknowledge it's existance and only because Shelton's brought up the issue we are discussing it.

Personally I do feel that flair doesn't give much to the Ic title. At Survivor Series 2005,Styles( during the flair vs hhh match) somehow spoke that the title was of no importance over there and King did the backup by saying that the title meant something to Flair. Honestly the U.s title is much more gaining attention. Former World champs like Booker T,Benoit and Jbl are running after it for such a long time now.Even the Cruiserweight title which is a World title has lost quite attention as it is being changing hands rapidly even on second class house shows and Velocity.

Come on man, you're using HHH as an example in this when he main events most of the time without the title anyway, so how he is relevant to this, I don't know.I think you're just looking hard for reasons to argue your point.

I personally have never seen the IC title defended in the main event in all the 6 years that i've been watching WWE,so it would be unusual to me and it wouldn't feel right either.I wouldn't mind if they hyped it up in a double or triple main event(remember fully loaded 2000) though.

Actually, the title was doing alright until Flair won it.

Shelton did have a good run w/ the title. Carlito was doing alright with his heel schtick (He'd be even better w/ it now though.) Since they dropped Carlito for Flair though, it's gone to hell. He's beaten Carlito, Trevor Murdoch, and HHH.... As opposed to Shelton, who if I remember ,was defending it at least twice a month.

Here's how to make the I.C Title important again.

Keep the Shelton/Flair fued going until WrestleMania 22. And make Shelton win the match in a great way. Don't let momma get involved in any way.

Then after WrestleMania, make a storyline where Triple H is hungry for a Title. Triple H asks for a shot at the WWE Title but Vince tells him that he can't have a shot at the WWE Title because Edge and whoever wins the tournament are getting a shot at the title and it wouldn't be fair on them if he doesn't need to have a match to be number 1 contender.

So Triple H says he wants a shot at the second most important title on RAW. Vince makes the match and Shelton wins it. Triple H askes for another match and he loses that one. The feud keeps going until Backlash, where Triple H asks for a match, but Shelton says that Triple H can have the match, but only if he (Shelton) gets to pick what type of match it is.

On the night of Backlash, Shelton picks a Ladder Match, then his momma changes it to a TLC match. In a great match where both men get busted open and Shelton gets to fly all over the place, Triple H wins the I.C Title.

Then carry on the Shelton/HHH I.C Title feud until SummerSlam, where they have a Triple Threat match, but nobody knows who the third man is. Then when Triple H and Shelton are in the ring, have Goldust's music play and he's in the match.

Goldust wins the Title and does some comedy stuff with the belt and Triple H in their fued, they also have some great matches.

That's how they can make the Title more important.

I'd take your idea Cool King, but interchange HHH w/ RVD.

If done right, both guys could come out of that feud looking like a million bucks. Toss Carlito and Chavo to keep things interesting, and you have a classic.
