U2 postpone their Australian tour
Credit to NineMSN
U2 have postponed the Australian leg of their sold-out Vertigo '06 tour. A statement released by the promoters, The Next Adventure and Michael Coppel, said the postponement was "unavoidable due to the illness of an immediate family member of one of the band." "Any fan of U2 will realise that this decision has not been taken lightly," said TNA President Arthur Fogel. "We will announce further details as soon as we have them." It would have been eight years since Bono and the boys played on Australian shores. The group has already played sold-out gigs in North America, Europe and South America as part of the Vertigo roadshow. The tour followed the release of the band's 11th album, How To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb, which has sold more than 2.85 million copies in the United States alone. Shows in Auckland, Yokohama and Honolulu have also been postponed. http://news.ninemsn.com.au/article.aspx?id=90557 ![]() |
