Invasion
So how did the wwe actually screw up the invasion? I have only watched a handful of ppvs from that era and not many sd/raws. What exactly did they do wrong? What should have they done?

At every turn they made every single WCW star look like shit. It was 100% boring because even my VERY markish friend knew that every match would probably end with a WWF guy whoopin' ass.

To put it this way: Team ECW/WCW (led by Shane and Stephanie McMahon) was Booker T, DDP, Rhyno, the Dudleys and later STONE COLD STEVE AUSTIN
It should have been (led by ERIC BISCOFF): Hollywood Hogan, Goldberg, Kevin Nash, Scott Hall, and Sting |

Yeah, it didn't even make sense. That whole Alliance thing really killed it and watered it down.

What did they do wrong? They shat on WCW at every turn they got. Any time WCW/ECW SHOULD have won, they lost. Of course the WWF should have won in the end (no matter how you look at it) but WCW/ECW should have had been on level ground with the WWF.

No, because Goldberg sucks. And on top of that, Goldberg's appeal is that he is unbeatable. You don't put the unbeatable guy on the team that loses, because it means he has to be beaten (remember, the final match was elimination style).
If that were the case, the only way to effectively make Goldberg job would have been for him to have been the last guy on his team, with at least 3 survivng WWE guys each hitting their finisher on him with him kicking out until someone finally nails him with a "super" version of their finisher (top rope Angle Slam or something?) |

Wrestling is pretty simple. You build up two opponents so that people are willing to pay to see them fight. When one side is constantly humiliated and made to look like losers, then no one is going to care.
