I saw it on the ESPN Red Sox message board about an hour ago, I think some posters there were just listening to the radio. Its now on rotoworld:

WEEI in Boston reports that Adam Vinatieri will sign with the Colts.
The station is very confident the deal is done, but it's worth noting that no national news source will confirm it. It's also interesting that Vinatieri reportedly just changed agents and ESPN's Len Pasquarelli notes a player can't sign a contract within five days of changing agents. If that's the case, Vinatieri has a verbal deal in place at the most.

The Patriots have lost a lot of players and all they've done is sign Caldwell. I guess they'll sign some leftover FA's, and rely on the success of their draft experts.

Vinateri is easily the biggest loss though. Willy was getting up there in age, and this year's draft is stacked with linebackers. Givens was tough to give up too, but he got overpaid by the Titans and not to take away anything from Givens, but he is only a very good #2 wideout. While a #2 wideout is not something that is easy to replace, it is not exactly replacing the starting QB. Poole wasn't really even a loss, dude hasn't played the last 2 years at all. Even when he was playing, it wasn't like he was a lock down corner or anything. I wonder what the Patriots are going to do now, sign Vanderjack? I hope not, that dude seems like a D-Bag. I don't even know anything about any kickers on the market.

Most clutch kicker of all time joining up with Manning, just doesn't seem right..It's a sad day in pro football

Honestly tho this is great. Not just because the Colts can kind of stick it to the man ( Patriots ). I mean Vandershank is a thorn in Indianapolis's side and no one here liked him. The only reason everyone in the Colts lockeroom held there breath is because he was too huge a contract to be cut and too good of a kicker not to compromise til the remander of his contract , making the Colts players and personal kind have to hold there tongue because they are a contending team and they just might need him in a crucial situation. Only problem was that he was a choke artist and choked away our best season ever. Sure you can claim Manning had a bad game, but honestly i thought he played great considering he was missing a key member of the O line and blocking assignments were missed all day because of that andddd the fact that Pittsburgh played damn near perfect on defense.

I was a tough close game with both teams play great on defense . Manning made plays on offense when they got the ball ( once with the help of a bad call ) but he made the plays. The game came down to a huge field gay and Vandershank missed it by 20 yards. Now he became expendable and the only guy in the league that would be an upgrade was Vinny. Funny how things work out. This is great. First we beat you by 3 touchdowns, then we take your " Hero " and put him in a Colts uniform.

Dont get me wrong. The Edge loss hurts badly . But i'm holding out hope that White falls. Which is very possible, or we make a trade for a Tatum Bell, or some other proven RB. You're over valueing the RB position. Especially in a pass oriented offense.

Manning could have passed to Dallas Clark instead of throwing to the endzone on one of the pass plays, then when he almost got picked off he could have thrown it to Edge in the flat. Both were wide open, it was all over TV I am sure you saw it. That doesn't really matter now though. Letting Vinateri go was an awful move by the Patriots but I don't see how this going to put the Colts over the top or anything. He is just a replace for Venderjack, he isn't really much of an improvement except of his "clutchness" factor, which may or may not ever be a factor.

I think the thing that is hurting the Patriots the most this year is age, not free agency. A lot of their good players are getting up there in age.

You memory can't be too sharp if think the Patriots will be in trouble next season because they "lost" Lawyer Milloy and Ty Law lol. Last time Milloy played for the Patriots was the Pats/Rams Superbowl and Law hasn't played for the Patriots for a season and a half.
