The NWA World Heavyweight Championship. The WWE Championship could have a case going for it, but spending two years almost being exclusively around the waist of John Cena & JBL, no disrespect to either man, has made the title seem less important. Moreso, WWE has two World Championships, so the WWE Champion and WH Champion look like equals, which basically makes the belts useless in determining a top guy.

Some people may argue that the NWA Championship has lost value because of the time it has spent with Jeff Jarrett, but Jarrett is something like a ten-time World Champion (too lazy to check my sources, but he's held the WCW Title a few times, and the NWA Title a few times). Technically the WWE needs to recognise this, as they recognise Ric Flair as a sixteen time World Champion. He's only held the WWE Title twice and the WCW Title seven or eight times (I've read varying sources). That equals ten at the most. This means the rest of Flair's title runs were, duh-duh, NWA Title reigns. If they recognise the NWA Title and WCW Title as World Titles, Jeff Jarrett is one of the more prolific World Champions of all time.

Anyway, TNA makes its Championships all look like they're worth holding (giving them top billing, etc.), and the wrestlers who hold it are often extremely talented wrestlers who were "held back" in other promotions. Christian Cage, Ken Shamrock, Ron Killings, AJ Styles, Rhino, etc. You can make cases about how those man are "overrated", but when you look at who has been holding the WWE's World Championships a lot of the time, the same arguement applies. Five years ago, if I had told you Bradshaw would be WWE Champion, Eddie Guerrero would be WWE Champion and showed you footage of John Cena wrestling in OVW and told you he would be WWE Champion, all in five years time, you would probably consider that belt worth crap. Again, we all know that those men are talented, and are worthy of being Champions, but the WWE's timing and pacing with such things is way off.

In short, the WWE Championship is losing credibility, in my eyes. The World Heavyweight Championship is slowly gaining credibility. With Kurt Angle as wh Champion, it is hard to argue otherwise. If the title changes hands at WrestleMania, my views might change. I don't think it is the right time for another Randy Orton title run or a Rey Mysterio run. Not with Batista on the way back. Angle should hold the belt until Batista returns, and lose it back to him.

Random fact about the World Heavyweight Championship. It has not ever changed hands between two men who were not a part of the Evolution stable. Triple H was the first Champion, he lost it to Shawn Michaels, he became a two-time Champion, he lost it to Goldberg, he won it back from Goldberg, he lost it to Chris Benoit, fellow Evolution member Randy Orton won the belt from Chris Benoit, Triple H won the for a fourth time from Randy Orton, Edge & Chris Benoit both got the fall in a Triple Threat Match for the title making it vacant, Triple H won it back for a fifth time in an Elimination Chamber, he then lost it to his former Evolution co-hort Batista, before Batista forfeited the title and it was presented to the winner of a Battle Royal, Kurt Angle. With Randy Orton & Batista on SmackDown!, I would love to see this little trend continue.

The NWA World Heavyweight Championship is like a father to the WWE and WCW Championships, and like a grandfather to the World Heavyweight Championship. It is really the most prestigious title in North American history, in my opinion.
