I dunno, hes said hes the one that got HHH over as a main eventer and i agree, royal rumble 2000 made ol' honky. Sounds shoot to me, but wwe.com sucks for swapping between kayfabe and shoot

What the fuck are you talking about? He was cutting a promo on Raw. What else would you expect the Triple H character to say? Trips has been saying political stuff ala the Foley comments since he's been a top WWE star. He's often berated his opponents with political remarks simply to get himself over as a top heel.

Foley's worked with HHH before. He should've expected no less.

I'm sorry, I love Foley and all, but he did not put HHH on the map as a main eventer. Yeh, they had some great feuds with each other especially around Rumble 2000 and No Way Out 2000. If anything, I think Foley's status was actually elevated by these matches more than HHH's was.

HHH cemented himself as a main eventer long before all this politically shite started by being a consistent top performer and through gimmicks and angles like DX and feuds with the likes of Austin and Rock.

Foley has got it wrong here.

I don't think so CC.I think the match that elevated HHH's career was the RR 2000 match, Foley had already gone as high as possible and the whole point of this feud was to elevate HHH's career, and it did just that.Yeah HHH was already big before this feud, but that match helped made him who he is today.

You have to place some of the responsibility/blame for HHH's rise on the Rock's feet also. The series of matches that came after Mania 2000 were about as important to his status as the matches prior to that.

That's just IMO however. For me, Foley doesn't have as much to do with HHH as he thinks he does. To say such a sweeping statement as "I put him on the map" is ridiculous, as in that "without me, he'd be nothing". It's an insult to the bookers who came up with DX, the members of DX, Rock, Austin and HHH himself.

HHH looked over-matched and out of his depth until his Royal Rumble clash with Foley. All new heel champs in the last 8 years or so have looked over-matched in their first few months of their reign (See Angle and Jericho, even The Rock back in 98) Foley made HHH look like a superstar. There's a difference between being a credible top heel (which he was without Foley) and a credible world champion (Which Foley did for him, and The Rock exactly a year before)

In fact, even before that Foley gave HHH his first world title after Summerslam 99 when Austin refused to job for him. I think Randy Ortons career increased tenfold with a feud against Foley, Edge beats Foley and now hes in the main event of Backlash. (ok thats probably a coincidence.....) but Foley puts people over, hell he even helped Benoit play top heel in the company briefly in 2000.

HHH couldn't of come this far without his own awesome talent and skill, but Foley definatly helped him, a hella lot.

Again, I'm arguing against the "I put him on the map" statement. I'm a Foley mark and that streetfight at the Rumble remains one of my favourites, but he didn't do that all by himself.

CC-i think you're just arguing for the sake of arguing now.He was just replying to HHH's comment at the end of the day.I can understand you're saying the HHH/rock feud also helped to elevate his career, but if it wasn't for the Foley feud before that, I doubt that it would've been the same.
