Hmmm, Triple H - lol I have defected from the Net Fan stance
I'm going to step outside of the circle now, and nobody kill me lol. But I just wanted to say that, for some reason, I've been really enjoying Triple H as of late. I mean I haven't been this into Triple H since well...before his injury back in 2001 or 02. When he came back from 02, he wasn't the same Triple H...he was boring, old, always hogging the screen, beating everyone.
As of late, he's giving other people the rub. Granted, he still may be holding talent down, but at least he's entertaining again. Maybe it's because I really hate Cena, or I'm digging the new storyline, but regardless....CALL ME A TRIPLE H FAN FROM NOW ON!!! Is there anyone else that is enjoying Triple H again? I AM PABLO. |

I'd rather have HHH on the screen than most people on the raw roster.

Incidentally:
Most "smarks" have always been behind HHH's work. Nobody with a brain can condemn his ability... The problem is more that his politicking has forced him down our throats and destroyed otherwise credible players. |

Somehow, over 2002-2004 he managed to be the champ the vast majority of the time while simultaneously wrestling less than the rest of the main eventers. |

I will admit that I have generally enjoyed his work since his feud with Batista. I didn't like him when he went through that period of having shit matches and even shittier angles with the likes of Steiner, Nash and Kane. His burying of Y2J never did him any favours either.

And that's the big diff. Nobody's really ever argued (At least, in the net smark" camp) that Triple H can't entertain. Point of fact, he was totally beloved by the community he was bashing up until 2000-2001. People thought he was a great heel, a great face, a great speaker (Despite mockinguhhhhh...His speakinguhhhhhh...Skills), a great worker...He was really considered a total package deal... ...And then he stopped putting so much effort into his performances. His spot had been cemented, so rather than put on good matches, he put on mediocre matches and relied on politics to keep hi min the main event. Even casual fans got tired of him; his 20 minute promos tend to get people to change the channel faster than anything on the show, which is neither good heel work nor business. He started to turn off even longterm fans, and stopped being the guy who was a great heel and a great worker. Come to think of it, he and Cena have a lot in common. Both blame the smarks, both lost their fans when they stopped trying, and both really can't draw, despite being on top. |

So is it right to say that HHH is the biggest reason why the ratings are so low these days?(notice i said BIGGEST not ONLY)

Cena doesn't need to draw, when he's selling t-shirts and arm bands by the boatload. That's what the management thinks anyway.

Im sick of that excuse that they're using to keep Cena on top.Bet they will be regretting it when the ratings drop below 2.0 and Cena is still champ.

HHH and maybe Edge are the only things worth watching on Raw. I mean come on, the next best thing is Mickie and Trish's angle. HHH is THAT good. We don't like his politicing, but is it really politicing when he is the only thing worth watching? Actually, HBK is worth watching, but not when feuding with McMahon.

I wouldn't even say HBK is worth watching these days. He hasn't really entertained me outside of his return in 2002. That's four years of, what I consider to be, lackluster performance. I mean he's put on good matches with Angle and Benjamin..but other than that, he's been boring to me.

Micheals was getting really good, but i haven't enjoyed him this year. A feud with Vince is enough to put me off ANYONE.
Kane Knight is 90% right about HHH but i think he can still draw, I think a lot of casual fans (ones that i know anyway) see him as the only true superstar on RAW. If raws failing i blame one man: Cena but i'd blame anything on that waste of fucking space. |

You may think he can still draw, but he's been murder on ratings for years.
In my book, lack of drawing power is generally defined by ratings. |

If Triple H was this entertaining back in 2002 and 2003 I would almost forgive him for burying Jericho, Booker, Kane, RVD, and whoever else he buried.

I think Cena-hate is really affecting people more than they think. Theres no comparison between him and Triple H. Triple H has a legacy, and Cena has a crowd full of people booing him. He doesnt have any worthwhile raps anymore, and his little belt has a spinner on it. He talks about taking the belt to "another level"; problem is, its not a level up. Triple H hasn't looked this good in a long time.
And commenting on a previous subject above, Michaels is still stealing the show every week. Stale my ass. |

It's a combination of the Cena antagonism and the fact that HHH hasn't really politicked (as far as we know) lately. I mean, people loved HHH up until he came back after coming from the quad injury. He's definitely a great heel and a good wrestler.
Basically, what everyone's said so far. |

And you're right. There's no similarity between Triple H getting lazy once he was on top and John Cena getting lazy once he was on top. None whatsoever. |

Trips is getting better now because he's finally beginning to turn face.
He's been the dominant heel forever. It's about time they use someone else as the top heel for RAW. As far as ring work, Trips always delivers. Promos/burying other talent, |

The net switched from hating to loving him like 6 months ago. This isn't news, most everyone here agrees with you...most everyone hit their annoyed with HHH peak at Mania XIX and it's been going down since.
