Your thoughts on Razor Ramon as a face.
He was pretty popular back then and held the IC title numerous times.
Now I don't think he ever got a World Title Shot as a heel or a face I can't remember but I think he should have. ![]() ![]() ![]() |

I know at the Rumble in '93 he fought Hart for the WWF Title...
But without a doubt I think Hall should have won the belt...or for god sake at least in WCW. Even if he did fall down drunk, he still wouldn't have been the worst champ. |

Hall would've drawn huge in WCW as champion. He was insanely over.

Uncensored 1998 against Sting and SuperBrawl 2000 against Sid Vicious and Jeff Jarrett. Two more title shots he got (in WCW).

Didn't he also win one of the World War III battle royals?

Razor Ramon was one of the first heels to turn face that didn't lose much of his character. I think he was one of the first to do this, and set the tone for characters like Stone Cold Steve Austin.
Their characters, as heels were insanely over, and they became popular with the fans. They were times when Vince listened to the fan reaction. He would have been a great champion, but perhaps Vince was justified in his decision not to put the strap on Hall what with the manner he left for WCW in. It showed a lack of loyalty. |

I loved that crybaby match between him and X Prick. Mainly because I hate the shit out of Shaun Waltman.

I wish he'd had 1 title run in the WWF before he left.

Same here, he should've had a run for the belt. He would've been a great WWF Champ as heel...

It's his own fault he was never champ. I'm certain that had he stuck around in the WWF he would have been champ, heck, Kevin Nash was champ for a year, surely razor could've got at least 1 run. I loved that era of wrestling Lex Luger, Tatanka, Bret Hart, Yokozuna, Owen Hart, Taker, Bob Backlund, Doink, Shawn Michaels, Kevin Nash, the million dollar corporation..GOLD!. |

Hall was over, but he wouldn't of been taken seriously as a World Champ imo. And this is pertaining to the post about him in WCW. I think most people saw him as just an upper midcarder. He played 2nd fiddle to Hogan and Nash all the time. The crowd ate his stuff up, but I dunno if he would of done well as champ.
Now to answer the question. That was an awesome turn because Razor was still Razor like mentioned. He took the money and threw it right back in Money Inc's face (that was the turn right?) and that was just his character. He didn't need any help. He was still a cool babyface. I thought it was great when The Kid turned on him though. They had such a memorable past that I was shocked when The Kid joined Dibiase. I liked that angle. |

Hall wouldn't have made a credible WCW World Champ? I don't think he played second fiddle to Nash and Hogan...well Hogan yeah but Bischoff made it so everyone played second fiddle to him. He was over like mad, he had the crowd behind him as a face or a heel. Not only that, talk to most marks...I am amazed at how many people actually think he WAS Champ. Besides, this is the WCW Belt we're talking about...the same belt worn by David Arquette, Vince Russo...certainly he was more credible then Ron Simmons, Sid Vicious, Vader, or Jeff Jarrett.

I'm talking strickly during 96-99. That's when he was at his best. He was always behind Hogan, Nash, Goldberg, Sting, even Luger. Like there were times where they could of pushed him huge like after he won World War 3, but they never went with it. He was always in the US Title picture or being jobbed to the guys who were going for Hogan.
I just really couldn't see Hall carrying the company at that time, especially with how he was always used. Keep in mind I love Scott Hall. He my top 5 fav's of all-time and I wished they would of gave him at least a strong run at the Title. |

I think he will forever be one of the most popular and influential wrestlers ever to NOT hold the world title.

Didn't Hennig win the AWA World Title in 1987/88? Back when AWA was still a real "World" Title?

RE: Razor as a face.
Razor Ramon was much better as a heel than face. His promos were better and he seemed more natural as a heel...
I'm surprized to this day, that Hall was neither WWF or WCW World Champion. Especially when you consider that his nWo co-creators Nash & Hogan were champs in both feds[and were much poorer workers]. Nash & Hogan were both awful in-ring and were only champs in WCW because of their mediocre runs in WWF. What was Vince smokin? He made Nash & Hogan WWF Champion and even Psycho Sid held the title. Meanwhile, guys like Mr. Perfect & Razor never got to take that next step to greatness. It's sad those guys[Hennig & Hall] won't be remembered in the books of wrestling history, but, guys like Hogan & Nash[both overrated horribly] will be remembered as "good champions"........ It's also sad that Hall couldn't stay sober enough to have a last run in either TNA/WWE. He would be a major asset to either fed right at the current moment. Although TNA needs him more[lack of stars]. |
