American Dragon Brian Danielson...
Okay, I'll admit, the guy is damn good. However, people love to go on about how Samoa Joe and and CM PUnk are overrated, yet everyone praises Danielson like he is the second coming of christ.

I'm not saying he's not great, but does anyone else think he may be a tad bit overrated?

Of course, he wrestles his own style, and doesn't try to be flashy. The problem is, a lot of people these days aren't into mat work. Personally, they way the business is going, I think his mat based style may end up holding him back some.

I am not really a big fan o his. Perhaps it's t'mat work you mentioned that he focuses quite heavily on, but his work on the old mic is also something t'improve. And I know this should nay a big issue, but t'man doesn have a good look t'him. He's pink, thin, his face looks kinda funny, and he walks wit a bit of a hunch.

Saw one of his matches with Rodderick Strong at RoH in Chicago a couple days before Wrestlemania, I was told great things about both guys. But Danielson didn't impress me much, the match was far to long and I wasn't really into it. Though I had had a long day, and the show was like mad long.

Gonna order that DVD and watch it again and see what I think.

That match with Strong was like the 3rd (I think) they've had in about the last 6-8 months...obviously I don't know since I haven't seen it but I wouldn't be surprised if there was some stuff in there that played off their previous matches.

-edit- If it's the one I think it is then it almost certainly does, as the matches have been getting longer each time.

I think the reason Danielson isn't really "overrated" in the truest sense is that there are really only a handful of people on here who talk about him. Granted, it's almost all positive, but there are maybe five guys on here who ever bring him up. Whereas with Punk and Joe, they're constantly being mentioned.

First match they had was on 10/29, when Roderick "legit" knocked out Danielson with a forearm, Danielson woke up and put him in a armlock and Strong tapped. around 30-40 minutes

Next week, 11/5, rematch in Chicago. Danielson starts heeling it up and acting cocky, working over Strong. Strong won't go away, leading to Dragon hitting MMA elbows on him from the crucifix, knocking him out. 44 minutes long

I haven't seen the 3/31 match yet, I heard it was good though. Strong chops harder than anyone I've seen, and Danielson comes up with some good submissions/stretches

He bores the living shit out of me with his American Strong Style shit, I can't say there's one match of his that i've seen that I thought was THAT good, technically he's a decent wrestler, but there's better around.

Overall there's nothing he can do that I haven't seen before a million times.

I don't like him at all. I find him boring, the only matches of his that I have enjoyed have been when he fights Daniels, and let's face it, Daniels could wrestle an untied shoe and I would probably like it.
