Re-forming ECW = Re-uniting WWE?
In my opinion, if ECW is reformed, I believe the WWE roster should be reunited... WWE can still film both RAW and SmackDown! with matches on HEAT and Velocity online for lower-tier talent... It will be slightly more difficult to showcase a lot of people at once in major angles, but ratings will surely pick up and new feud possibilities will be endless...
First of all, there's the ECW roster: -------------------------------------------------------------------------- ECW Roster: ** I think Chris Benoit should join the new ECW if things don't pick up with his current WWE run... ** I also think Chris Jericho should join the new ECW and come out of inactivity because he could help carry the company... ** New talent such as Teddy Hart, Eric Perez, Sonny Siaki, Mikey Batts, Ray Gordy, Team Elite and High Impact could join either ECW or WWE... Main Event Face: Rob Van Dam Sabu Sandman Tommy Dreamer Masato Tanaka Main Event Heel: Edge CM Punk CW Anderson Justin Credible Lance Storm Tag-Division: Impact Players Axl Rotten & Balls Mahoney Roadkill & Danny Doring Guido & Tony Mamaluke Nova & Stevie Richards Tajiri & Mikey Whipwreck Super Crazy & Psicosis Midcard Division: Al Snow Kid Kash Johnny Swinger Big Vito Super Crazy (team with Psicosis) Little Guido (team with Mamaluke) Tajiri (team with Whipwreck) Mikey Whipwreck (team with Tajiri) Balls Mahoney (team with Rotten) Nova (team with Richards) Divas: Jazz Francine Dawn Marie Lita Occasional Appearance: Eliminators Cactus Jack Terry Funk Mike Awesome Bam Bam Bigelow & others... -------------------------------------------------------------------------- It's a solid roster that is sure to go over well... If they can get two 1-hour timeslots weekly, they would be set... Even if one of them is online-only... Keep the announcing team Joey Styles & Taz or perhaps even something involving Paul Heyman, Joel Gertner or Cyrus... I personally enjoyed many of the ECW commentators... All former referees and the ring announcer have all been contacted by WWE for a return... -------------------------------------------------------------------------- As for the new WWE roster, WWE Roster: ** I anticipate a return for Test, Mark Jindrak and Chuck Palumbo, as well as debuts for the likes of Harry Smith Main Event Face: Triple H Shawn Michaels The UnderTaker Kurt Angle Batista Rey Mysterio Jr. Main Event Heel: John Cena Randy Orton JBL Kane Shelton Benjamin Chris Benoit - needs to turn heel or go to the new ECW Midcard Face: Lashley Carlito Gunner Scott Paul Birchill Charlie Haas Chavo Guerrero Matt Hardy Val Venis Midcard Heel: Booker T Mark Henry Mr. Kennedy Finlay Chris Masters William Regal Umaga Matt Striker Tag-Division: MNM Spirit Squad Gymini Murdoch/Cade Goldust/Snitsky Kendrick/London + possibly Bashams or Lords of the Ring if WWE gets their head straight + new teams such as High Impact and Team Elite from DSW Cruiserweight Division: Gregory Helms Jamie Noble Jimmy Yang Shannon Moore Miz Funaki Brian Kendrick Paul London Daivari - manager/cruiserweight Armando Alejandro Estrada - manager/cruiserweight Women's Division: Trish Stratus Mickie James Beth Phoenix Victoria Torrie Wilson Candice Jillian Ashley Melina Sharmell (manager) Kristal (interview) -------------------------------------------------------------------------- It's a solid roster with lots of excellent talent... Emphasize some of the future talent, however, such as Bobby Lashley, Carlito, Shelton Benjamin, Mr. Kennedy, Randy Orton, John Cena, etc. WWE should keep the RAW announce team: JR & King... While the SmackDown! team becomes: Cole & Joey Matthews... The Velocity and HEAT teams are not really relevant... Although I'm almost certain they'll go with Cole & Coach if this type of scenario were to go down, I think Matthews deserves the position... -------------------------------------------------------------------------- RELEASE: Viscera Sylvan Orlando Jordan Scotty 2 Hotty Boogeyman Great Khali (keep him around as a bodyguard novelty or something, nothing else) Rene Dupree (I actually like him, but if they can't get anything for him, no point of keeping him under contract) Tatanka (or keep occasional appearance only) Animal (sign to a legend deal, keep occasional appearance only, new gimmick is awful) Rob Conway (unless you reform the Lords of the Ring) Eugene (see Conway) Basham Brothers (if they are wasting away off screen, although they are talented, you might as well release them Maria (big mistakes on live TV is not the way to go about things) Stacy Kiebler (pretty sure she already got released anyways) -------------------------------------------------------------------------- There you have it, a new and improved structure within WWE that is sure to change the direction of wrestling in the long run... I'm sure everyone would be excited to see some of these changes take place... -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Last edited by Somebody's Gotta Die; 05-18-2006 at 05:03 PM. |
