I hate people who call the theater.
Today in the middle of our Da Vinci Code/Over the Hedge rush some girl called. Here is the conversation that ensued:

Me: Hello, thank you for calling Great Escape Theaters this is Michael, how can I help you?

Her: What time will See No Evil be showing tonight.

Me: We did not receive a print of See No Evil.

Her: Will you have it next week?

Me: We will not be getting it.

Her: Why?

Me: Our booking agent does not think we have a market for it.

Her: What does that mean?

Me: It means they think we won't sell a lot of tickets for it.

*long pause*

Her: But it looks like a good movie.

Me: It may very well be, but our booking agent decides what movies we get and what movies we don't get.

Then she hung up.

We get those, too. I'm so used to retarded people coming up to me that it doesn't really bother me anymore. Stupid phone calls still piss me off though, especially when I have a line of 40 people to take care of.

From my security days:

I was posted at a Goodwill in a spanish part of town. It was a fuckin hot day. Now Goodwill get pretty stuffed with cheap ass customers by 10am, but this day was special. There's construction going on, right in front of the entrance. My job is to keep people alive, watch their fucking Curious George monkey-ass children, manage people traffic, manage language barriers, deal with an asshole construction foreman and my supervisor, all while they bring in this bulldozer digging in the dirt not 8 yards from pedestrians (which couldn't be legal). And this isn't one of those cute CAT bulldozers, I'm talking those constructicon monsters that clean up airliner crashes.

I counted like 8 ways people could die right then, on my post. Anything happens to anybody it would've been my ass. Goodwill would get sued, they'd sue my company, then it'd be my ass. Oh yeah, people do not like security telling them even the simplest direction. Grown people, too; not the younger ones like I thought.

6am to 6pm twice a week, then 6pm to 6am. And some extra asignment my dispatcher dreams up at the end of the week.

Work sucks because PEOPLE SUCK.

LOL. I'd be more annoyed if someone did this in line. On the other hand, at least then the 40 people behind them know why you're slow.

But seriously, going to the movies a couple months ago, people are waiting to be seated, I'm like 3 people back and this fucker's kicking up a fit because of the movie selection. The line's getting longer as he's yelling at the counter jockey who has about as much choice in the films they pick as sharks do as to whether they'd like a wet or dry climate.

The guy keeps yelling, kid even calls the manager, and there's only one ticket window. So finally, the entire line starts bitching and the guy ends up being kicked out. But God damn, people can be stupid.

This was way back when I worked for Blockbuster. This person calls up, and right away I can tell that he's like 13 or retarded. Probably both. Anyhoo, He says he works for the blockbuster down the road. And that they ran out of "adult movies" and that they were going to send someone down to pick up some of ours, to restock. Ok, so nevermind the complete absurdity of his story. Trust me. This isn't the best part. The best part, was right before he hung up, when I said, "You do know that blockbuster closed 2 months ago, right?"

Yesterday was hell, but not phone related.

I was serving this woman in line. She asked for a large popcorn, and we prepared it. She saw that the large bag was a bag promoting the movie "Barnyard." The woman got all pissy and told me she wanted a large "Da Vinci Code" bag. We told her that "Da Vinci Code" bags only come in small. She got pissed, knocked over the popcorn, and told us she wanted her money back. I had to inform her that she hadn't paid me yet and she walked off in a storm.

Then some guy was putting his 18 month old child on one of our motorcross games (I'm not sure why) and because he was standing on it, the machine broke and the two of them fell. He will probably sue us, even though he was far too old and far too heavy to be on our machine.
