Charlie Haas' Push is Over...

From House Show:

Quote:
Eugene was attacked by Umaga (who was coming out for his match w/Alejandro (whatever his name is) ) on his way back to the curtain.. He was left laying, and Charlie haas checked on him as he came out to face Umaga. Umaga attacked Charlie Haas ,

UMAGA DEFEATS CHARLIE HAAS
When they both were in the ring, Umaga squashed Charlie Haas. A boring match actually, but thankfully it was quick- 5 minutes or less.
Add the fact that he teamed with Viscera and jobbed on Heat. I think its safe to say Haas is back where he was on Smackdown last year...

Time moves on, people pass away, but there will always be a Snake...

I don't think that means anything. A five minute match is hardly a squash. Haas sounds like he did better than Flair. Plus Haas wasn't even pinned on Heat. The Heat match itself was designed to make Lance Cade & Trevor Murdoch look like a tag team again.

I wouldn't worry too much about RC, especially with Shelton Benjamin now IC Champion.

Well I thought that defeating the Intercontinental Champion in a Non-Title match on your debut was a push for someone who used to be a Velocity jobber.

Not when it's your return. It's just like saying hey, look who's back. And of course you don't want him to look weak so you give him the win. Not realy a hello, more like a welcome back.

It wasn't even a joke. I never saw a push at all. I saw like one match with him where he was victorious by a totally lucky break, and even then because his opponent was trying to imitate RVD to show off.

That match wasn't even about Haas' win, but Benjamin's loss.

I was wondering if there was something I was missing.

What else is new? WWE always keeps talents away from TNA just to kill their push[or lack thereof in Haas's case].

Yup, go to TNA, where fewer people will see and/or care about you, and you'll make far less money. It's worth it. You'll get a couple of wins...against guys no one's ever heard of!

Depends on how long until you're fired.

Really, there are pros and cons to either side of the equation. I mean, unless your name is Calloway or Levesque, or some other main event name from the 90s that Vince cares about, you can expect to have a hellish touring schedule. There's more pay, but that doesn't alone make it a better job.

It also doesn't completely negate your point, but neither does yorus his.

Sure, if you don't want to travel, work TNA, but be advised that you'll make less money, and less people will know/care about you, and that there's a good chance that you'll never have a chance to go very far in that environment. Being the NWA World Champion today is barely as prestigious as being the WWE Intercontinental Champion.

Pepsi man,i don't agree with your argument.Sure going to TNA maybe less money, but it depends what is important to you.If you love wrestling, WWE will try their best to job the fuck out of you unless your HHH or known by him.You say more people will care about you if you go to WWE, oh so you care about Charlie Haas right now then?Even though he just jobbed to Umaga in a squash match?I think more people would care about him if he went to TNA personally, just look at how much the move has helped Christian for example.

Rather than have his career fucked over by the WWE and take the money, he went to a company that would get the most out of him, just as many people sitll care about Christian as they did when he was in WWE, probably even more now.If he would've stayed in WWE however, no one would care about him right now because WWE would've buried him.

Ratings, lad. TNA draws MANY less viewers on television, and obviously far less fans attend live events by TNA. As far as Christian goes, to be honest, he almost seems stale to me in TNA. I don't know what it is, exactly, but now with him on top, it's kinda like he's just there, not really doing anything exciting or intriguing.

I guess Rey Mysterio and John Cena are two of Triple H's best friends, though.

Yeah, but Charlie's already been seen on TV multiple times, and besides, with guys like Abyss and Monty Brown in the TNA main event scene, I'm not so sure Mr. Haas or guys like him quite fit the mold.

No one can deny that Charlie Haas is a great technical wrestler. However, Charlie Haas needs a character. He has no character. He has no charisma. This is what is holding him back. It is not the WWE, but his own lack of a developed character. I think WWE needs to give him a hand in developing it or he will just flounder again.

Not to get too far off topic, but...

I don't watch a lot of TNA, (Almost none actually) but I watched last weeks where D-Von did some kind of secret "shoot" on the WWE saying that the new ECW is just a flavor of the month, and that the heart of extreme is at TNA.

His promo did nothing for me except make me want to watch ECW just so the 2 am ratings will totaly kick the ass of their 10 pm ratings on TNA, but the more I thought about it, I started to figure out why his promo sucked so bad. It sounded freaking phoney. The fans scream and go on like it's a 5 star match when Rhyno and Abyss were trading punches in a really boring match. Was it extreme? Hell no. Its best moments are during spotfests. Which don't really capture the spirit of ECW. So what exactly is the spirit of ECW that TNA has?

The fans. Don't get me wrong here, I'm just saying that they really REALLY want to be the next ECW. You can't deny them that. All D-Von was saying was what the TNA fans wanted to hear: "WWE isn't extreme, because WE'RE the new extreme!" And that's why it sounded totally fake. The crowd doesn't know faces from heels, and thinks only that they must cheer for the brand, not the matches. It's downright pathetic.

And that's when it came to me. Maybe TNA can make their big leap from the little leagues to the majors with a single promo... The Dudleys were awesome heels in their days. Why make them faces? Cut them loose. Let them say what every single wrestler thinks backstage. "Every single one of you little losers is about as real as Jackie Gayda's tig ol' bitties." Let 'em go from there about the stupid chants, the cheering for pointless matches, etc. If they cheer for that, there probably wasn't ever any hope for TNA in the first place.
