The NWA and WWF/E

I've got two questions that I think deserve more discussion than if placed in the Q&A section

Firstly, back in the day anytime a NWA or old school promotion star came to the WWF Vince gave them some weird gimmicks. I never watched NWA but I know there's got to be more to Dusty Rhodes than a fat man with polka dots. So why did Vince change everybody who came to him?

Secondly, is there any current wrestler on the WWE roster that came through NWA of the 80's and 90's? I can't really think of any who are even old enough.

1 - Vince McMahon made his own stars. He didn't want anyone else taking any credit when he had all the top stars on national TV. Dusty Rhodes was his competition at one point and once he was let go by Jim Crockett Promotions, Vince brought him in since he was a big name but totally humiliated him by having him wear black and yellow polka dots and fishing turds out of toliets. Basically saying the top guys from the NWA era were nothing in the "big time".

2 - Ric Flair. Suppose you can say Terry Funk now too.
