Photo/Video Program
I am looking for a program that I can use to create a video presentation of pictures, where I can add several sound songs. I do know that I can use slide show but I don't like it. So is there any recommdations for a free program?

How good is Windows Movie Maker? Like is the sky the limit as far as the awesomeness one can produce with it, as long as the skill is there?

It depends on what you do with it. If it's just editing, adding a few effects, titles, pictures, sound and text, then it should work. Don't expect something like Adobe Premiere.

I was thinking more along the lines of a WWE "Desire" video. Like a compilation of bits and pieces of clips with a music soundtrack.

If so, yeah, I did that with WMM. It's pretty easy to chop up videos, reorder and add music to them.
