July 4th ECW Show: MOVED?

Not sure if anyone has reported this yet, so...

From eWrestling News

Quote:
The July 4th ECW taping was moved from the ECW Arena to the Wachovia Center because Vince McMahon didn't want to run the show without pyro. Pyro isn't allowed in the ECW Arena. A Raw/Smackdown Supershow will take place on Monday, July 3rd and ECW will have the arena to themselves on July 4th.

Meh. How far apart are they, distance-wise?

It's in Philly, so it really isn't going to make that much of a fan difference, besides the size.

I'm thinking they'll be taping at least two shows for it, maybe three.

There ya go. They needed this show to be independent and not before any WWE event. So having it more than once would be great, as far as crowd reaction and how "into it" they are.

I think the point here is that Vince is taking a piss on the ECW arena so he can have some (never used in ECW before) pyro.

At ONS there was a 'fuck the pyro' chant.

I was just thinking that. I didn't think ECW ever used pyro. Why use it now?

Vince: Pyro! It needs more pyro!
Heyman: But Vince, I--
Vince: NO, damn you! Everything needs pyro! Lashley not getting over enough? PYRO!
Heyman: But Vince, I never used py--
Vince: PYRO PYRO PYRO!!

Hah, I love the chants that ECW fans come up with. And that Sandman entrance from 2005 still puts me in awe.

On the Rise and Fall DVD, Heyman says himself, "Srew the pyro" when explaining how ECW didn't have the multi-million dollar budgets of WWE and WCW.

Yet if he had the money, you don't think he would have used pyro? Of course he would have.

I keep telling my TNAsshole friend that. He insists that this ECW sucks because it's in a big arena and they have some pyro. Of all things to complain about, why gripe about the pyro?

The arena thing falls into that category as well. You don't think he wouldn't have held events at big arenas if he had the money?
