That's usually what the house shows are for, I think. To test matches/moves/gimmicks out before going on TV/PPV with them.

I think most matches (except the really spot-heavy ones) are called on the fly, anyway, so there's no real need to do a full run-through before going out in front of the crowd.

I think they might practice certain important sports and what is relevant to the story of the match before hand.
