Correct me if I'm wrong - cause I'm not one to throw something out there and tell everyone it's fact with no basis - but the WWF audience in those days was comprised of mainly children and that's who the WWF catered for. I imagine that regardless of internet domination or not, Hogan still would've gotten over and the more older "smarter" fans would've went NWA or something.
