A scary thought...

Someone mentioned the idea that soon Hogan would challenge Big Show for the ECW Title, then I read about how Big Show said one thing he always wanted to do was a WrestleMania at Detroit, like Hogan and Andre at III...does anyone else see something with this or am I digging too much?

This could go into fruition. So could terrorists attacks. Not that those things are related.

That plan for Big Show died back in 2000.

The original plan was for Big Show to come in as a major heel and dominate the main event all through 1999, leading up to an eventual HUGE match between the champion Show, and of course, Stone Cold Steve Austin. The idea was based off of the hugely successful Hogan/Andre match from WMIII.

Of course, Austin was injured and it never came to pass. Since then, Big Show has been treated as a mid-carder at best, and pretty much a glorified jobber until he moved to ECW.

Besides, Hogan vs. Big Show had been seen and done before.

WCW Giant and Hogan happened, but to the best of my knowledge it never happened in WWE.

Well that and the fact that they would have to build Big Show up as the most destructive force of all time before the match, and then when Hogan went over him, all of his credibility would be destroyed. And that's just pointless.

Hogan would break his hip trying to bodyslam Show.

So let's rally for this to happen.

It doesn't matter. I don't see why it's scary. It's Vince McMahon's right to have a match between the Big Show and Hulk Hogan for the ECW Title.

That's what's so scary about it. Vince can do whatever he wants. He could bring Hogan in, put him in the Royal Rumble at 1, and have him eliminate everyone personally in less than five seconds of them entering, making for no more than five minutes wrestling time for him.

Vince has too much control and too big an ego.

I'm not saying it isn't McMahon's right...he signs the chekcs, he makes the calls. The scary thing is that I wouldn't be suprised to see it happen and I personally think it would be a spectacular flop. Vince McMahon has a bad habbit of trying to recreate rather then innovate. A Big Show/Hogan match wouldn't even be the end of the world now that Show has stepped up his game, however if it happens I doubt they would promote it as ECW's unstopable monster against one of the undisputed legends of the industry. I think they would take the "This is just like Hogan/Andre" road...which would not only suck, but would in a way taint and tarnish one of (if not the) biggest match in Professional Wrestling history.

I don't get how someone gets from "A scary thought" to "It's his right."

What do those two thoughts have to do with one another? That's such a non sequiter. Whether it's his right or not, it's still what it is...

No, it wouldn't be done to tarnish any match in professional wrestling history. It would be done because Vince McMahon sees profit in it, and he should do whatever he wants to do to make a profit.

Don't get me wrong. I'm not saying I love the idea, but it's Vince McMahon's right.
