I heard Monday Night Wars is good stuff, and doesn't bash WCW or praise WWE.

Here is a few tid bits I got off wrestlecrap.com for the DVD
The year: 1995 the promotors: Vince McMahon and Eric Bischoff The companies: WWE and WCW - Ladies and Gentlemen - The Monday Night War! This incredible story of Raw vs. Nitro charts the many chapters including the nWo, McMahon vs. Austin, D-X invading WCW, Flair returning to WCW, and much more! Among those interviewed for the DVD include Vince McMahon, Eric Bischoff, Gene Okerlund, Ric Flair, Jim Cornette, Rey Misterio Jr, Gerald Brisco, and Bruce Pritchard. Interesting to note is that Flair says he was so happy the day WCW closed, he couldn't stand it. The awesome DVD extras include matches such as: -Steve Austin and Shawn Michaels vs. WWF World tag team champions Davey Boy Smith and Owen Hart (Austin and Michaels win titles, from Raw, 5/26/97) ***** -WCW U.S. champion Goldberg vs. WCW World champion Hulk Hogan (Goldberg wins title, from Nitro, 7/6/98) -Shawn Michaels & Hunter Hearst Helmsley vs. the Legion of Doom (from RAW) -Chris Benoit vs. Booker T (from Nitro) |

![]() I just checked Suncoast.com, and there are at least 12 or 13 pieces of bonus material. Along with the 2 matches from each promotion, there are a bunch of "segments" like Rick Rude on both RAW and Nitro on the same night, and Ric Flair's return to WCW. There is also the DX WCW Invasion, and a "Final Nitro" segment----which got me wondering: Are these two bonus features the same ones from Confidential? To be honest, it sounds a little weak to me.
I mean there are only 4 matches in full? That seems a little odd. However, the matches they included were good or at least historical, so it might be worth it just to get those matches. On the other hand, we are talking about a deal that lasted for many years, and revolutionized the business, seems like it would take more than 1 DVD to cover it. Also, there must have been more matches/angles they could put on it to tell the story in more detail. I haven't seen it yet, so I cant really comment, but lets face it, this thing will hardly be objective. |
