Things I miss...

A thread that could also be called 'why now's wrestling is terrible'. This week, Stone Cold Steve Austin...

This man was gold. I genuinely can't think of anyone on the roster currently who can be this entertaining on the mic and has such a presence. With the exception of HBK or perhaps Kennedy, there's no-one for the future. Which means either the WWE are lacking in a major star to fill this 'void' or they intend the change the direction of the product away from Austin/Rock-like promos. Either way, I can probably say with some degree of truth that I won't be watching this time next year unless things change.

Austin wasn't a particular strong wrestler in the likes of his predecessors HBK or Bret Hart, but he had tremendous presence and ring pyschology which meant he could tell a hell of a story. I'd only really give this honour to Angle or HHH at the moment. Top guys like Batista, Cena, Orton and even 2006-watered-down Van Dam can't quite hit the standards that some of Austin's matches set.

Any thoughts?

Craftsman does not have that much rep yet (10+)
Stone Cold was great especially in the year 1998. A DVD compilation release would be great right about now.

Just look at the crowd responses in that video, I cannot remember anyone recently getting that kind of reaction from the fans.
