A few McMahon DVD Spoilers
Shacmasta sent this. All I can say is "wow".

On the New McMahon DVD, Stephanie tells us about how Vince wanted to do an "incest" angle.

You still there?

Vince wanted to be the father of Steph's baby. She thankfully rejected that idea, but then threw her the possibility of Shane being the father instead. She again said no.

He also wanted to put Triple H & Steph's wedding on PPV.

As for the rest of the DVD.....

I got my copy yesterday. For those wondering it's not as kayfaby (is that a word?) as I was expecting. A lot of the material/subjects will certainly interest fans, especially on the 'Net. The Katie Vick/J.R skits are mentioned. McMahon defends both, but there's a lot of critcism from others. The XFL is mentioned. Vince semi defends it and others tell us why it failed, especially Joey Styles. Vince killing the territorial wrestling feds is mentioned and Greg Gagne takes him to task for that. We also hear why him buying WCW was bad for business and why he hired Eric Bischoff, with Steph admitting that Vince did it just to say that he works for him now. The Steph-Triple H marriage is discussed in detail.

Of course there is a lot of....."I LOVE MISTER MAC-MAN'S", especially the last 10 minutes which really dragged on. Plus, there is a really nice extra of William Regal talking about McMahon. The feature is a little over 2 hours. Extras include deleted scenes and wrestlers like Big Show and Regal giving us a few Vince stories/memories.

I'm doing a quick recap, but that's the most important stuff. I definitely recommend it if you're a fan of the WWE home video department.

lol, yea I read this earlier today. Once the "what the fuck" factor wore off, I started wondering what would have actually happened had this incest angle gone through.

When I first read that Vince wanted to be the father of Stephanie's baby, I first thought "Oh fuck no, what was he thinking", but come on, it would be pretty controversial, and would get the WWE some major attention.

I mean, Vince being the father of his own grandchild. That is something that just seems to go deeper than the current DX antics, and it reminds me of the days when there used to be deeper storylines in wrestling. I don't want Steph on my TV, and I don't necissarily want incest on my TV, but this is the kind of drama that the WWE has been lacking recently.

To be fair, KoOS, half of those never pulled that in the first place.

Plus, Billy and Chuck got mainstream attention, so I wouldn't call it a failed endeavor. I went for Katie Vick specifically because, after a one-night increase in ratings (Waiting to find out the truth), it was dropped because ratings tanked. Edge's title run was definitely that, but I don't think inVasion or Al Wilson ever did that kind of business.

It's always different. I was more addressing the issue that shock sells. Actually, it quite often doesn't. Not in wrestling, anyway. That's why so few feuds go outside established formula. That's why, 99% of the time, the guy who gets the upper hand before a PPV lays down****

Wrestling's like a sitcom. Even the soap opera turns are soft, as fans like to watch predictable storylines and characters. Hell, even during the Attitude Era, where people were "shocked," almost everything was done by the numbers.

Take John Cena. The guy is doing shit all to boost ratings, and he's being worshipped by management as the next Hulk Hogan, Stone Cold Steve Austin or The Rock. Those guys actually drew in new fans.

What really intrigues me with this potential angle, is that the WWE wouldn't have been able to drop it like they did Katie Vick. It would follow Vince as long as he appeared on television. It would probably even follow him off television. This is that extreme level that the WWE is too chickenshit to go to. There is mild controversial (which the WWE does so very often, can also be classified as "stupid") and then there is extremely controversial. Kane having sex with a dead body? I'd classify that as stupid. It didn't fit with the character, it didn't really add anything to the characters involved (took away from them, actually) and it was so easily forgotten. Vince being the father of his own grandchild? Although some may say it's stupid, as it can't be swept under the rug, I'd say it would be very interesting, just to see how the WWE handles it.

It would certainly get media attention, and people may be revolted by the concept, I think some people may actually go "Haha! An old man had sex with his daughter in the WWE, I'm going to check that crazy shit out for laughs". Kane having sex with a dead body? That doesn't really lead anywhere, and it's all kind of in the past. Controversial, but more like swearing in a church controversial rather than trying to get a church knocked down so you can build a brothel controversial. If you catch my drift? If they had the dead body come back as a character, then maybe. The Undertaker is kind of a dead body. They are "half-brothers". Two birds with one stone?

Plus, it's about time Vince got stuck with a stupid gimmick instead of one of his talented employees.

It wouldn't surprise me if that idea was created exclusively for the DVD, though. I mean, it gets the same reaction as the actual storyline would ("Haha! An old man wanted to have sex with his daughter in the WWE, I'm going to check that crazy shit out for laughs"), but with the safety of not actually doing it.

If the JR and King discuss the incest thing on RAW, my bet is that they created it for the DVD to sell more copies, or to dip a foot in the controversial waters, so to speak.

I mean, Stephanie McMahon did want to make Melina a transexual, and if she was really embarassed by the ideas presented to her by Vince, she wouldn't have talked about them on the WWE.

I see this as kind of a "detached publicity stunt".
