The thing about Will Ferrell (that I just recently figured out) is that he is pretty funny himself, but his movies are great because he surrounds himself with amazing comedic actors.

In Anchorman he had Paul Rudd, Steve Carell, Fred Willard, Christina Applegate, Vince Vaughn, Luke Wilson, Ben Stiller, Tim Robbins, and a bunch of his old SNL castmates.

And now in Talladega, he's got John C. Reilly, Gary Cole, Michael Clarke Duncan, Amy Adams, Sacha Baron Cohen, Andy Richter, Jane Lynch, Greg Germann...

I caught a midnight show of this last night, and I don't know if it was the late hour or if it was just that damned funny, but I laughed way more than I expected to going in.

Still haven't seen it, but from what I have seen, it has looked pretty funny. Any movie where the kids' names are Walker Bobby and Texas Ranger Bobby has my support.

Ferrell is best when he is not forced to carry a movie, but can rather be a part of it. These huge casts allow attention to be taken off him, occasionally. But as the billed star of it, he's having his cake and eating it, too.

I saw it a few weeks ago, and even though I am a NASCAR fan, I found it hilarious. Especially the prayer moments, "Dear, sweet baby Jesus".
