SmackDown! is so much more defined than RAW. Granted, I don't watch RAW anymore, so I may have missed a few little details in there, and I've taken some liberties, using reasoning to deduce a debuting cruiserweight will get a shot at the Cruiserweight Title, but you can see where I'm coming from. No Mercy is like five shows away, Unforgiven three, yet SmackDown! still has the most felt out card, with even more matches easily able to take place. It is hard to see much else taking place on RAW, and they'll probably just throw guys together in matches, like Johnny Nitro and Ric Flair.

My real point here is the build-up. Providing SmackDown! takes steady steps to developing its feud, and doesn't blow its load with these matches on SmackDown!, it could be a pretty sweet PPV with stories attached to every match. RAW is not likely to get that treatment. They may as well start building to Cyber Sunday.

I like your No Mercy card, and I enjoy Smackdown a lot more than Raw as well. I really love Booker as the king, as well as his court, the tag division, while it still could use improvement, atleast it is existant. Kendrick/London as the champs is great, and I am happy to see the Pitbulls back, and the emergence of James/Stevens could make for a good three way tag match.

You're the smartest newbie I've seen around these parts in ages. You have my respect.

On top of the matches I've listed above, you could throw in some good quality throwaway matches. William Regal beating on The Miz for a good few minutes?

Sylvester Terkay and Elijah Burke can treat us to a PPV tag match against Scotty 2 Hotty & Funaki. Doesn't seem PPV calibur, but get Burke on the mic before the match, and he can make it seem like Terkay and Burke teaming for the first time is equivalent of the second coming.

On the Heat before the show, have Tatanka face Sylvan in a "will his losing streak continue against a jobber?" kind of situation. The answer is yes, as Sylvan has a potential future, Tatanka really does not.

SD has the worst storyline ever. Also the Booker/Batista feud is terrible. Which mostly because Batista is terrible. Edge/Cena feud is much better.

Sure SD has some good wrestling and it has Finlay, but SD is horrible.

Which storyline are you talking about? I agree, Batista has been a vacuum since returning, but he's still better than Cena. Batista still gets (piped in?) cheers.

I am not a big Jeff Hardy fan. I have always liked Matt better. I think he will be main eventing, though. It's a fucking TLC Match, and Jeff Hardy beat Edge on RAW.

He's not going to main event a PPV his first month back. Anyway after that match they didn't even bring up JEff Hardy again. Hardy is not going to be in that match.

I don't watch RAW, so I wouldn't have a clue. I really wouldn't be surprised either way, though. These are the people that think bringing back Hogan was a good idea.

I'm still of the opinion Batista is better. Just because he doesn't annoy me like Cena does.

The whole storyline should have gone like this:

*Chavo Guerrero almost kills Rey Mysterio with a steel chair shot at The Great American Bash. King Booker wins the World Heavyweight Championship.*

*Next night on SmackDown!.*

CHAVO: Rey Mysterio is a failure. He couldn't get the job done on his own, so he dedicated everything to Eddie. He rode the momentum of my uncle's death. I let it go because I was convinced that's what Eddie would have wanted, even though I didn't have the courage to do it myself. But each and every week I hear you fans chant Eddie's name during Rey's matches and it makes me sick.

Rey Mysterio is not a Guerrero. He has no right to dedicate anything to my family. I should have won the 2006 Royal Rumble, but no, Rey had to be selfish. He had to take the spotlight that should have been mine. I should have headlined WrestleMania 22, and I knew it for sure when I saw Rey foolishly put his title shot on the line against Randy Orton at No Way Out. Randy Orton beat Rey Mysterio, albeit with a little lying, cheating and stealing. Rey cried about it! Hello, Rey! That was more homage to the Guerrero legacy than anything you have ever done in your life!

Then you got sympathy. That classic Rey Mysterio sympathy. It's the only reason you have ever been put before hard-working men in the business like me. Theodore Long put you in the main event of WrestleMania because he felt sorry you lost a match to a match utilising my uncle's favourite tactics. Then you go to WrestleMania, still attaching the Guerrero name to you. Rey, you got booed out of the building! I had to come out with Vicki just so Chicago didn't boo you out of the arena. Why? Because I honestly thought that's what Eddie would have wanted. For you to be World Champion. You know what I really think Eddie would have wanted? You to defend that World Championship against those others close to him, like William Regal, Chris Benoit and yours truly, but that didn't happen. Instead you got your ass-kicked by giant men you knew you couldn't be, destroying the legacy of a Championship Eddie Guerrero would have held with honour, and your dragging his name through the mud!

I helped you keep the title Rey, because I think that's what Eddie would have wanted. But you know what? That's not what I want. That's not what a lot of these fans want. These people want to see the Guerrero legacy carried on through someone that can represent it. Eddie may want all those close to him to benefit from his Hall of Fame career, but I do not want anyone desecrating my name! I, Chavo, the last of the Guerrero family, will prove at Summerslam, that you, Rey Mysterio, are not worthy of being in the same ring as a Guerrero.



Unfortunately we get Chavo and Vicki trying to be bad guys. That is not going to work.

Honestly, I rarely get to watch Smackdown because it's on a weird channel here (the WB) that airs it on Saturday night when I'm somewhere other than in front of a TV. But today they aired it for seemingly no reason at 1 in the afternoon when I had nothing better to do. I watched it and liked it a lot. I agree with your points Alienoid, but there are obvious reasons why your points are true.

1.) The Smackdown roster is greatly reduced compared to Raw's. Therefore, they have to build their feuds up and string them out because they can't keep mixing them up as Raw can. Once people come back from injuries/suspensions, I think this era of good build ups will end. The WWE hasn't traditionally kept things status quo for so long throughout a whole show.

2.) Their main event scene is so small, they have to keep the same guys feuding with each other. You have one main face, Batista, dealing with the sole heel, King Booker. Lashley is there and ready, but he is overshadowed by Batista that they can't co-exist as faces on the same show. One will turn on the other eventually. Rey has fallen off from the main event scene since he's dealing with Chavo. With the top so small, it forces everything to stay the same. I don't think WWE should be commended for their great job in building up feuds on Smackdown, they're basically forced to because of the roster circumstances.

3.) Since RAW is so crowded with talent, they have the ability to interchange talent and start new feuds. Some get good build ups (Cena/Edge, DX/McMahons, Foley/Flair to some extent), but others are lost in the shuffle. It seems simple to just extend feuds over several months, but the crowds aren't going to tune into the same thing every week, and we should know not to trust the writers to keep things exciting while not changing it up. The ratings on Smackdown show that not everyone loves the week-to-week same ol', same ol'.

The real problem is that they're are simply too many damn PPV's. I'm under the opinion that the WWE would make MORE money by cutting down the PPV's and letting their feuds build over time. Hell they don't have to have 14 PPV's today because WCW does. They control the wrestling world, they can afford to change it up. Not only would they save money by not producing a PPV every month, but I would argue that more people would order PPV's if they weren't asked to shell out $35 for a crappy PPV. If they let them build interest for a month or two, I don't see why it wouldn't attract fans to shell out their money for PPV's they want to see, instead of hoping they do every month for a show they kind of want to see.

My PPV schedule:
Jan - Royal Rumble (all brands)
Feb - Nothing (build for Wrestlemania)
Mar - Wrestlemania (all brands)
Apr - Nothing
May - Judgement Day (SD)
June - Vengence (RAW)
July - Great American Bash (SD, middle of the month)
Aug - Summerslam (both brands)
Sept - Nothing
Oct - Cyber Sunday (both brands, early in the month)
Nov - Survivor Series (both brands)
Dec - Armageddon (RAW)

9 total, SD and RAW each have 2 brand exclusive PPV's. Clear things up some, asks less of fans every month, and allows for more build up to PPV's.

This is gonna be a long ass post so I'll try to keep it simple.

1. Your PPV Cards -Your Unforgiven card looks pretty close to all the recent programs except the already addressed Jeff Hardy in the main event so I won't get into that. I'm confused about a few matches on your No Mercy card though. I think the Cruiserweight Title Match will be Helms vs. Hardy. Hardy's match with Kennedy seemed to be used to build up for a fued with Helms. They haven't really put Kennedy in a program yet which I'm hoping they do because he deserves a push. As far as Yang goes, They've only showed one promo for him so I don't know what they have planned for him. The only other thing I can see is Regal being added to the U.S. Title Match.

2. I just want to say that I personally find Raw more entertaining than SmackDown!. I do like the build up of some programs on SmackDown! like the tag team division. It is good to see an actual tag team division. Raw has some potential tag teams(Cade/Murdoch,Haas/Viscera) but don't use it as a division. Although I do like the way they are building up a fued between The Spirit Squad and The Highlanders. My problem with both the U.S. and World Title programs on SmackDown! is that they don't add anything new to the fued. They do the same thing week after week as Raw at least pushes their Edge/Cena fued more every week in a different way. I also like the way SmackDown! is pushing their Cruiserweight division with Helms at the announce table during CW matches and starting a fued between Hardy and Helms. I can't really say anything about the build up of the fued because they just started it this week. I personally don't like the way the Chavo/Rey fued has been building up and no its not because it is "tarnishing Eddie's legacy" as some would say, it just doesn't seem like it just seems a bit dull at this point as everything has been very predictable since April and it just doesn't seem like it will go far. Not to mention how they are burying Rey's character. When they made him champion they didn't push him as champ by making him look so lucky and making him sympathetic like you said. I can't really comment on any of the other programs because I don't know where they're going with them since they just started but thats just my opinion on Raw and SmackDown!.

Hardy & Wayne pick up the win, earning Hardy another show at Kennedy, and Yang a Cruiserweight Title shot.

No Mercy is something like five shows away. They won't hold off in Yang's debut for that long.

Well the WWE aren't always consistent and could bill Hardy as weighing less as he did get a Cruiserweight Title Match at the Great American Bash. I know they won't hold off Yang's debut that long but I don't know what they plan for him or whether they'll make him a heel or a face. Kennedy deserves a program and to be on the PPV card.

Actually, Nitro would probably retain, as Cyber Sunder is coming up, and it saves them booking feuds if the fans just vote on a face challenger to every title. I see Hardy winning via disqualificaton, thus coercing the fans to vote for him at Cyber Sunday, Hardy wins the title then, and joins the babyface team for the main event of Survivor Series, where RAW's Champions face RAW's Challengers.

That may have been the case before the show, but the match was nontitle. You can check it out on WWE.com and look at there Great American Bash results.
