I know I'm gonna get flamed to all hell with this pick but I gotta go with Chris Masters. Reasons?
1. His look. 2. His entrance. If possible I'd make it even more over the top to really grate people's cheese. 3. He's perfect for a heel. 4. Marketable nickname and finisher. 5. He's not COMPLETELY incompetent in the ring. In fact I'd make it rare that he even gets in the ring and just rely on getting his character over and only have major feuds with guys who can make him look good in the ring. The only problem would be getting people to job for him and creative making stories for him which is the problem now so I realize why am I even answering this question? |

I would push Eric Young. Some type of angle where he is totally convinced that if he loses a match he will be fired. He begins a undefeated streak and wins the X-Division Title. He then begins to relax, he knows that as long as he is a Champ he can't be released, he continues to get more and more relaxed and convinced that not only is he completely untouchable with his contract, but he is just undefeatable in the ring as well.
Him and Chris Daniels then fued over the X-Title...

Greg Helms, move him to Raw, give him back the Vertebreaker, and put him and Nitro in a IC Title fued ending with a 30 Min Ironman match.

No I meant X. I don't think Daniels or Young could make convincing World Champs in the next few months...I think both could make great World Champs one day, but right now they just arn't in a place where they could be good flagships.

Ken Kennedy, while King Booker is an ok heat generator, Kennedy could produce more. The smarks would be on his side, and he and Batista could reignite their fued.

I would have the coolest world champion ever, Carlito. He's got the look, the charisma, the personality, the skills, everything. He's got it. You could overlook the fact he isn't the biggest guy by explaining his backcracker could take down any size guy at any time. He can get a solid match out of the worst wrestlers (Masters) and will steal the show with anyone who has any talent. I think he wins the next MITB match, if there is one.

Long-term, Carlito or Kennedy
I would have Calrito start a long IC Title reign that runs through WM 23 and on into Summer Slam next year. Before Summer Slam, a feud starts to brew between him and whoever the main heel on Raw is at the time, ideally Edge, Triple H, Cena or Big Show. The heel would attack Carlito along with some friends, leaving him seriously hurt. Three months later he returns to a huge reaction announcing his entry into the 2008 Royal Rumble. He makes it to the final 4 and gets screwed by the heel champion who originally put him out of action. In the weeks leading up to WM, Carlito makes a big deal about his father never getting the chance to main event WM and how he will needs to win the world title @ WM. He wins the MITB ladder match, but doesn't carry around the suitcase... kind of downplays it until around September when he confronts the heel, who has lost the title at this point, and tells him he won't stop him from realizing his dream this time because he is cashing in the MITB contract 1 day before the deadline... at WM 25. The heel regains the title @ the Rumble and the showdown is finally set for WM 25 where Carlito wins the title in one of the most anticipated matches EVER. Keep in mind, this would take some very strategic writing to keep the fans guessing so they aren't just waiting 2 years for the match to happen. In Mr. Kennedy's case, I'd do the same except have his US Title reign happen with him as a heel and then turn him face by having the heel and his henchmen attack him. Short-term, Al Snow Have him shock everyone by winning the Rumble and leading into WM have Edge, or whoever the heel champion is just keep telling him he doesn't have it in him, he's over the hill, etc. Meanwhile, Foley and some of Al's ECW buddies are standing behind him and then you have him win the title @ Mania. Either that, or John Cena

If we are only talking about World Title, then I would like to see (and look forward to the idea he will get) CM Punk pushed to ECW World Title.

Seriously? Big Show is the best World Champ right now, I couldn't give two shits about the WWE, World Heavyweight, or NWA Title...Edge, Booker and Jarrett are all pretty bland right now. Show is easily the World Champ I look forward to the most.
But hey, how can you get better the Sharmell screaming "ALL HAIL KING BOOKER" 29 million times, Edge's continued pathedic atempt to be a tough heel, and Jarrett doing the Jarrett NWA Title reign part 6 or 7 or something... You want World Titles that are actually REALLY something, I know this is going to sound like Inno took over my account, but RoH's World Title picture is just beautiful right now. |

I would push Triple H.
Have him and Orton battle until the Rumble, and it comes down to just them. H is about to eliminate Orton via body slam but Orton hooks H's tights and throws him out of the ring. Orton wins the Rumble. For weeks have H attack or infuriate Orton in one fashion or another until Orton gets so mad he puts the no.1 con on the line against H at NWO. He goes over clean, then goes on to beat Edge for the title at WM. |

NO! I am so fucking sick of the Royal Rumble Winner position being put up on the line at NWO, they do it every fucking year. Get away from that, and ESPECIALLY get away from the winner of the Rumble losing the shot...is always turns out akward at best.

I am sick of the Rumble winner always winning at Mania. I am sick of a babyface always winning the Rumble. I am sick of a baby always winning at Mania. I am sick of the bland RR/WM booking that we always get. PREDICTABLE. But I do like the idea of the guy who won the rumble not being in the main event. Haven't seen that since WM13 I believe.
Mine to come soon. |

There's a reason Mysterio won the title on Smackdown. Because it's Smackdown and Vince knows that the World Title on Smackdown isn't really a big deal. He can use it to say "look, this man holds THE WORLD TITLE" yet still have the fact that the REAL title on Raw is being held by major stars. CM Punk winning the ECW World Title would be the same situation to me, only a step below even since ECW is the third most credible brand right now. |

Anyway, predictable is good sometimes. I want the face to go over in the main event at WrestleMania. With the exception being a situation like Austin-Rock @ X-7. You can't just have a heel win and then... that's it. It's WrestleMania! You need that "happy ending" feel.

I would just like something different for once. Just mix things up. Catch me off guard. I hate going into Mania knowing, with out a doubt who is going to win, 5 minits after the Rumble is over. That means I have two moths that I can tune the main event scene out and it won't make a difference.

If the feud is well written, it can be entertaining itself regardless of the eventual match so you don't have to tune out.
That's a big if, of course. |

It's like watching a good movie... yeah, you know how it's likely going to end most of the time, with the good guy coming out on top but having it happen any other way would just ruin the movie.

I'm going to get so much shit for this. So much. But here goes nothing.
On a RAW in the near future, they bring back some kind "Lethal Lottery/RAW Roulette" deal. Every Championship will be on the line, with the Women's Title being defended with the women wearing something randomly decided by a computer, in a Costume Battle Royal. The challengers for the World Tag Team Championship will be two guys selected from the list of non-Champions on the RAW roster. The opponent for the Intercontinental Championship will be decided randomly, and the opponent for the WWE Championship will be randomised. Make this before Cyber Sunday, but after Unforgiven. We get the Women's Title being won by Beth Phoenix in the Costume Battle Royal, and the World Tag Team Championship is won by the random team of Carlito and Kane. The Intercontinental Championship finds itself around the waist of Triple H, much to Vince McMahon's protest that he wasn't supposed to be including in the voting. It comes to the main event. Edge will defend the WWE Championship against..............Val Venis? The Big Valbowski makes his way to the ring, with people either laughing, cheering, booing or sitting on their hands. Edge and Lita think this will be easy. To get the fans a little more interested in this thing, Val Venis gets the mic and says "The Big Valbowski has done some pretty dirty things in his career. Six years ago...one of them was Lita. Thank God that was six years ago". Edge gets pissed off, and gets a mic of his own. He tells Val that he was going to show mercy, because he has nothing against him, but now he is going to suffer for making this personal. Venis responds with some comments regarding their past, and how it was already personal. "You were engaged to my sister, and she's never talked to me about it, but I'm going to assume you did to her what you did to Matt Hardy and your ex-wife, and I'm going to kick you ass for it". We get a match which starts out stronger than expected for Venis, but Edge gets the upper hand with help from Lita. After what would probably be the best match in Val Venis' career, Edge is about to win the match, when Lita botches screwing (bet that's a first) and Venis manages to get a window for a comeback. An attempt to fix things by Lita, only makes them worse, and Venis climbs for The Money Shot. Edge rolls out of the way, and Venis hits the canvas, and does his fabulous selling of the spot. Edge sets up for the Spear, connects, somehow Lita is distracting the referee. The WWE Championship has been thrown into the ring and the referee blames Lita for it. Turns out a disguised John Cena was responsible, and he slides into the ring, hits an F-U on Edge without the referee knowing. Val Venis then crawls through the ropes, starts climbing, and perches himself on the top, poses, comes off with The Money Shot! JR and King are selling it with utter disbelief. 1-2-3! Val Venis is the new WWE Champion? They'd probably take the title off him the next week, but who cares, it would make Venis a World Wrestling Federation Grand Slam Champion. Surprising stunts like this aren't pulled nearly enough. |

I would like Mr. Kennedy to get pushed into the title picture, but it's pretty obvious how that would happen...maybe we could get Stevie Richards pushed to the title picture.
Everybody knows that Stevie Richards is "Enhancement Talent". People go over him on the way to becoming a star. One week, he's facing an established midcarder (maybe Shelton benjamin) and accidentally trips Shelton and falls on him for a pin. At this point, have a backstage segment with Coach or something saying "you were supposed to lose" and totally play up the sports entertainment angle. Richards then goes on something of a winning streak, accidentally pinning people, or making them submit. Have him in matches against established talent already in a feud with somebody...this can explain a few of his wins, with run ins and bothced run ins. Soon enough, he's in a battle royal or something for the number one contendership...get's thrown through the second and third rope first, but all the other competitors finish the match, thinking Stevie is eliminated until there is one established main eventer i.e Kane left. Even Stevie thinks he's lost. Kane then leaves the ring by stepping over the top rope, and you have Stevie Richards as the winner, and new number one contender. Once he's in the title picture, he realises that maybe he can do this, and much to the chagrin of John Coachman, has a decent match...although coach costs him the title...then have an authority figure vs Richards feud to further establish him as an upper midcarder. From there, you can pretty much force him down people's throats like John Cena...and push him to the moon. |
