1980's. Even the Pop was good back then (and may also be why 80's Pop is one of my favorite genres).

1960s/1970s Rock Because most music since is just noise. |

1960s-1970s. While you had shit like John Denver and pussy singer-songwriters in the 70s, you had acts like Queen, Aerosmith, the Who's most seminal works (Same with the Stones). I won't make any illusions that the 70s didn't have some crap, but they also had some hot bands.
The 60s saw the BEatles, the Beach Boys, the Who, Bowie (I'd pick an era for his most semenal works, but that boy has continued to produce relevant albums into the 200s), guys who were the real foundation of Rock and Roll as we know it, as well as punk, pop, and even giving the blues a kick in the ass. We got the idea of concept album and rock opera. Again, I won't pretend it was all sunshine, but it was better than the 70s. |

1960s/70s Rock and Roll comes in an extremely close second for the obvious fact that it had a huge impact on music as a whole, and because I also grew up being exposed to it. Not as much as country music, which is a shame, but enough to appreciate and enjoy it. |

60s-70s
Classic Rock, Dawn of Metal and even the "pop music" was interesting to listen instead of utterly generic like current crap. Music has not been consistently good since 1979. |

80's music mostly for how much fun it was, and you had groups such as Motley Crue, Whitesnake, Twisted Sister, among others, who gave me some good memories.
I also liked the early to mid 90's, for bands like Bush, Alice in Chains, STP, Smashing Pumpkins, RHCP (awesome show btw) and NIN. 70's rock with KISS, Queen, Stones etc. was also fun too. *Sigh*. I miss those eras. |
