My Raw thoughts Week 2
I think I'm just going to do a weekly thing of this because I'm becoming more involved with wrestling.

DX starting the show was a good thing. I don't care what people say about D-X, I love their antics. But once again, I liked the match, I just didnt understand why the Highlanders were involved in the match. This was a credible face team and the RAW writers have destroyed their push. I don't mind them destroying Vis, Haas, and the Hicks but I actually feel for the Highlanders

DX taking over Raw was really well done, throughout the show which I will dive into more later.

Hardy was the right choice to win the IC belt. Carlito and Orton are above the belt now, Masters is still too green for it, and the way Nitro has been in matches lately and the way Melina screams like a whore in distress, it's obvious they are both being depushed.

DX outside the door of Coach's room was hilarious.

HHH: If you keep that up, your gonna go blind. Hey, Shawn told me that what you're doing is a sin. Just awesome

The Hardy/Melina/Maria segment was god awful. Not because of HArdy, not because of that gorgeous young lady Maria, but because of the obvious. Why waste 30 seconds of a show watching some bitch scream at the top of her lungs. If I want to see a horror movie, I'll go see The Texas Chainsaw Massacre.

DX going after Coach was awesome. HHH flirting with the girls in the locker room. GOLD. The stripper from 8 weeks ago dancing with Coach in the lockerroom. GOLD. Throwing out the trash with Coach in it, GOLD. Running Coach into the truck, obvious but still good.

The Spirit Squad incident was just obvious payback for when SS went up against DX.

Umaga vs Kane was just made to look Umaga powerful. And it did. Slowly yet surely, I'm becoming a fan of him. When it comes to Kane vs Umaga next week in a loser leaves Raw match, it's going to be so obvious when Kane leaves Raw. I dont care how they do it. Just put Kane over there.

Orton vs Carlito once again put on a great match. When this feud ends, it's going to be so hard to put one or the other over. Since Orton has the credentials, it would make sense to put Carlito over since Orton could take the blow. But with what has been going on with Orton's character, you don't necessarily know what to do here. Alienoid, I'm looking at you here.

Someone please break up the Spirit Squad. I'm done trying to make explanations for them. It's just embarassing that they are still together.

HHH: They are so gay. GOLD.

BTW, I cannot wait for Cryme Time.

The women's match was dare I say it, good, but I wish this would have been the finals, and not the Quarterfinals. Victoria and Mickie can actually put on such a good match.

After the Eric Bischoff, DX, MAsters segment, I'm now convinced we are going to get DX vs NWO. And I cannot be anymore thrilled. This is what I've dreamed about, hoped for, prayed for. AS long as the drunk can stay sober, and the injury prone guy can stay injury free, I would pay for my first PPV in nearly 3 years. (I normally go to Buffalo Wild Wings to watch them)

Edge vs Cena was amazing. It didnt matter who the crowd was for, it didn't matter who the crowd was against, they were so into it, it made the match so much better. Cena does so well in a hardcore environment, if he wasn't so much into the title scene, I'd ship him to ECW. They both put on such a good match that I'm just done talking about it. I could have done without the hicks and dx getting involved but oh well.

Show rating: A- with the only downfalls really being the SS and Melina's promo

Yeah, WTF, are the Highlanders a heel team now or what? They should've found somebody else to put in their place.

But Splaya, I totally agree with you on just about everything. I even thought the "How to Lose 50 Pounds in 4 Weeks" comment by HHH to Masters was hilarious. DX and antikayfabe comments like that go together swimmingly.

Some thoughts:

-Yeah, DX was mostly funny. They also buried, what, 12 guys over the course of the night? That ain't good business, no matter how you feel about Vis, Cade, etc.

-So we're supposed to believe that DX could make matches, strip people of their titles, etc., just because they threw Coach out? I understand that this is wrestling, and you need to be willing to suspend your disbelief, but this is just ridiculous.

-Catch JR's "Angle" comment during the Nitro/Hardy match?

-Isn't it hilarious how the WWE constantly derides internet fans, then uses in-jokes that only they will understand?

-The segment with Coach getting thrown out had it's moments, but it was overlong, and most of the stuff was too slapsticky for my liking (Tumbleweed?)

-Why can't they just break the Spirit Squad up instead of having them jobbed out to everyone over the age of 40 in the locker room?

-How hilarious was it that the lingerie Victoria and Mickie wore in their match was less revealing than their usual attire?

-Yeah, the Masters joke was funny, but it looked like a couple of cool kids picking on a geek in high school or something.

-A shame that the WWE title once again plays second fiddle to DX. Edge and Cena deserve better.

The one thing I didn't like was DX saving Cena. They should stay as far away form Cena as possible. Edge is awesome.

I doubt Nitro is being de-pushed. He'll probably be right back in it for the IC either right away, or after one other fued or some angle with Melina. And he'll most likely be working an angle with Foley in the future, probably at Wrestlemania, which from what I've read, is the only match thats definite for the event thus far.

Good show, but nowhere near an A -

Maybe a B, tops, IMO. Figuring A + is the best show they could do, and C is average, I'd say it's above average at best.

If they're smart, which they aren't, they do an NWO intro next week.

Maybe have Coach not come back, so DX is still in charge.... And throughout the show, some people are founded knocked out/beat down... Everyone assumes it's people from the opposite brands, and they want DX to make ammends....

DX eventually makes a match, and throughout the show, more people are found beat down.

All hell breaks out in the end, and DX is trying to stop the brands from rioting in the ring, and when that happens, Hall/Nash/BIsh show up in the ring, lay out DX. Hall and Nash take credit for the beatings as they leave, and Bisch says he is taking Raw back over whether Coach and McMahon like it or not.

That would be golden.

I'm starting to become less and less interested. It's like no matter what, we know DX is going to win anyway, just seems pointless really. Only way i can see this ending is with HHH turning his back on HBK again.

Mind you that would be better than what we have now. I realised last night that the two main fueds on Raw (Cena/Edge and DX vs McMahon) have been running in some form since the start of the year.

Now I did realise they had been around for a while but 10 months!! I was shocked but not surprised! (If that's possible!?)

Supposedly, the nWo angle isn't planned to happen after all, despite all the hints and rumors floating around. But it could be being kept secret to make for a big suprise.

No shit. But people keep insisting that it will happen. Much like IGN forum posters insist on hidden features in Smackdown Vs RAW 2007 that don't really exist, nor will they ever, even after confirmation otherwise.
