If WWE thinks K-Fed is helping them...

Last week's Raw drew hours of 3 and 2.8. I seem to recall Federline was on the show, but I didn't see it.

When Cena was on top, Raw was doing 3.6 pretty consistantly. And people hated him. More people seem to be cheering him now, yet ratings are going down. This is the third time in the last few weeks that ratings have dipped below 3, so clearly something's wrong. Raw's ratings will never truly tank, but with the current ratings, it will be hurt.

Ratings aside, this is nothing you folks don't already know. So to make this thread a little more interesting, I think this would probably be a good time for a wrestling company to go head to head with Raw. Fans of the show are migrating, and this would be a good way for similar programming to pick up those fans. I think even TNA could eke out a living on a Monday Night (Though I know they are moving to Thursday, which makes the odds pretty long against). People say competition would get slaughtered, I'm not sure this is the case anymore.

“There are two novels that can change a bookish fourteen-year old’s life: The Lord of the Rings and Atlas Shrugged. One is a childish fantasy that often engenders a lifelong obsession with its unbelievable heroes, leading to an emotionally stunted, socially crippled adulthood, unable to deal with the real world. The other, of course, involves orcs.”

I can't remember where I heard this, but it was along the lines of: "TNA will compete with the WWE one day. But it won't be because of TNA's success, but because of the WWE's failures." Or something like that, might of been here I heard that. Anyway, it's becoming more and more likely almost by the day. Either way if the E got some competition I would be glad to see it, if only so VInce would step up his game.

It's interesting about the crowd turning pro-Cena the same time the ratings dropped. Did the anti-Cena fans stop watching? Possible, I'd imagine thats not the case, but interesting none the less.

I would like to add that I am pleased that K-Fed does not equal money.

The reason competition would get slaughtered isn't so much because of what WWE's producing right now, but because of what they could if they were backed against a wall, and some people were forced to pull their heads back out of their asses.

I severely don't see them getting into gear, regardless of competition. At least not short term, which is all it would take to give pro wrestling a serious shot in the arm.

That's where I disagree. My view is that Vince McMahon honestly believes that he's "building the future" right now, and therefore is content to let ratings and whatnot slip just a little bit, but if there were anything even resembling competition, I think Vince would get serious.

If I think what could happen on 1/1/07 DOES happen between K-Fed and Cena, I think ratings will take a HUGE nosedive.

We've already had a little taste of him getting serious. When people were hyping up the second Monday Night War with the kickboxing crap, he totally bought into it and immediately did the wisest thing possible: Fire their lead commentator in hopes that another play-by-play man with no wrestling experience at all would take a huge amount of money to do something he really didn't want to do.

He didn't completely renovate the writing staff, he didn't dramatically shift the booking. THe only change in the booking at all was the fact that he oversaturated every night with none other than himself and his son. If somebody shoved their way onto Monday night again, McMahon's genius would present to us another wonderful half hour long colonoscopy skit. Wee!

"Kickboxing Crap" =/= another pro wrestling company. While plenty of their viewers are crossover, kickboxing is no more competition for the WWE than Monday Night Football is.

At this point I, along with probably many others, would rather watch Jeff Jarrett parade around with the NWA Title than watch K-Fed do anything in the WWE. WWE is driving itself into the ground. If TNA can so much as keep up what it is doing right now they will someday (emphasis on SOMEDAY) overtake the WWE.

Basically, i think that everyone pretty much knows the outcome of this fued. K-Fed will get the best of Cena a couple of times, then Cena will either A.) Whoop the hip hop out of his ass B.) Lose to him because of some interference which will lead Cena into another fued.

I think because no one really gives a damn about K-fed like that just don't put up with him on TV. I bet a nice percentage of the audience didn't know who he was until given some information.

Way to point out the 20/20 hindsight. It still didn't stop McMahon from firing JR and submitting us to half hour long ass jokes because he thought a second war was coming.

All I know is option B better not have anything to do with the WWE Championship unless the possible interferer will fued with Cena over said title. For the good of what little legacy the WWE Championship has left in its 43 year history, K-Fed should NEVER win that title.
