-Good size crowd that filled up everything but the upper deck. I may have forgotten a match here or there as I was busy snapping pictures.

Dark Match:

-Jimmy Wang Yang defeated Sylvan (dark match)

Smackdown

-Show starts with Teddy Long congratulating Batista for his title win. He signs a Triple Threat Match after Booker T invokes his rematch clause and Finlay demands a title shot.

-MNM defeated London & Kendrick

-Batista defeated Finlay & Booker T in a Triple Threat Match

-Krystal defeated Layla

-Chavo Guerrero defeated Chris Benoit by pinfall (non-title)

-Undertaker defeated Mr. Kennedy by countout or DQ. MVP ran in during the match and Mr. Kennedy bailed out. Kane came out to even the odds.

Teddy Long announced the following matches for the Armageddon PPV

I'm a little upset about the WWE Tag Team Champions being used as fodder for a tag team that will probably not even be together post-ECW PPV, especially considering their original gimmick was that they were better than MNM. I guess this is more split-teasing stuff. The only way this will be worth it is if they do Paul London vs. Brian Kendrick at Armageddon, but then have them resume being tag team partners. That would actually be pretty sweet.

I think the King Booker & Finlay vs. Batista & John Cena match will take place on SmackDown!. Do you think the WWE may be looking to unify the World Titles? They combined the WWE and WCW Championships at Vengeance '01, so why not repeat history at Armageddon '06? Have Batista and John Cena lose next week, after Booker steals the pin on Cena (with a lot of help illegally from Finlay). After the match, Batista attacks Cena in a rage, and we get Cena vs. Finlay and Batista vs. Booker at Armageddon, with the winners facing off in the main event.

Mr. Kennedy should go over The Undertaker. I don't care what the plans for WrestleMania are, it's time to push Kennedy. His wins over Taker have been pussy, and everything else Taker has won. Give MK the solid victory he needs, and deserves.

I think Kane should go over MVP to balance things out. MVP is newer to things, and Kane has done some clean jobs to him. See No Evil could still use some pushing as well. This could be a way to write off MVP temporarily, and have him work down in DSW or OVW some more, just until the rosters are a little less crowded.

I guess Chavo Guerrero pinning Chris Benoit is a way of setting up another title match between the two. Why not raise stakes and make it an I Quit Match? It can be used to get the match over as Chavo's specialty. He should definately win the US Title at Armageddon.

So, my kind of abstract prediction for the Armageddon PPV card:

-John Cena vs. King Booker for the WWE Championship
-Paul London vs. Brian Kendrick
-Batista vs. Finlay for the World Heavyweight Championship
-Matt Hardy & Jimmy Wang Yang vs. Gregory Helms & Joey Mercury
-Kane vs. MVP in an Inferno Match
-Chris Benoit vs. Chavo Guerrero for the WWE United States Championship
-The Undertaker vs. Mr. Kennedy in a Last Ride Match
-John Cena vs. Finlay for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship

More detailed

Smackdown:

The show opened with Teddy Long presenting Batista to the crowd. He got a big pop. Batista began to talk about how he came back to win the title when King Booker came out and asked for his title rematch tonight. Finlay came out and said he deserved to be in the match too, so that's our main event.

I guess MNM isn't back for one time only after all because they beat Paul London and Brian Kendrick in a non-title match with help from William Regal and Dave Taylor.

As you guys mentioned last night, they announced The Undertaker vs. Mr. Kennedy in a Last Ride match and Kane vs. MVP in an Inferno match for Armageddon.

Batista beat Finlay & King Booker when Batista pinned Finlay using a Batista Bomb. At least Booker didn't lose. Booker and Finlay will take on Batista and a partner he picks at Armageddon. Wow, two weeks out and we know more matches than we do for this weekend's ECW PPV.

They showed Chavo and Vicki Guerrero in the back. Chavo called out Chris Benoit for a match. Vicki was wearing a neck brace because of her Survivor Series bump. Chavo then beat Chris Benoit in a non-title match.

Kristal beat Layla. They may not be able to wrestle but they are both so hot.

The last match saw Undertaker and MVP go to a no contents when Mr. Kennedy interfered and attacked Taker. As MVP left to the back, Kane came out and ran him off, letting the show go off the air with Taker and Kane in the ring together.

But MVP in it? What a waste, the guy's only been there a few months. What seriously has Kane done to Vince et al? The guy should be Batista's next feud culminating in a Inferno match for the WHC, not putting over Mr Purple Tights.

And so much for Melina's 'for one night only MNM reform' comment. Do the writers have ANY FREAKING IDEA what the hell is going on?

I think it's basically a cross between an Ambulance match and a Body Bag match.

In order to win you have to put your opponent in a body bag and load him into an ambulance.

I think.

Didn't Taker and JBL compete in a Last Ride match at No Mercy 2004? I believe the match was a standard hardcore match except to win you just had to put your opponent into the hearse to win the match.

I can't believe the had Batista vs Finlay vs Booker on tv again.
Doesn't a combination of these 3 fight every single friday night for the past 3 months?
It'll proably end up being the main event at Armageddon too, jesus christ have somebody new wrestle for the title. They don't have to win, it doesnt even have to be the PPV just do something good with it.

So they're doing a tag team match in the main event of Armageddon. It seems they want buyrates, hence the gimmick matches, but they have a meaningly tag match as the main event? Oh boy.

It looks like we'll get Paul London & Brian Kendrick vs. William Regal & Dave Taylor at Armageddon for the WWE Tag Team Championship. I'm happy with that, as long as DT can work. I'd keep the belts on London & Kendrick.

So yeah:

-Batista & John Cena vs. King Booker & Finlay
-Mr. Kennedy vs. The Undertaker in a Last Ride Match
-Montel Vontavious Porter vs. Kane in an Inferno Match
-Chris Benoit vs. Chavo Guerrero for the WWE United States Championship
-Paul London & Brian Kendrick vs. William Regal & Dave Taylor for the WWE Tag Team Championship

The undercard looks strong, but the main event looks weak. I don't think I'll be ordering.

That card isn't looking bad at all. If the US title, and tag team title matches can get some time they can be good to great matches. The inferno match won't be much, but it is different. I don't know if Finlay and Booker are good enough to carry the main event to good, but it'll be a good test for them. Kennedy/Taker can also be a fun brawl, so the show could be a sleeper, as actually most Smackdown ppv's are.

I love how they completely ignre the whole "Nitro and Melina turned on Mercury" thing that broke up MNM. Booking at it's finest.

The Inferno match can go one of two ways.

First of all, the way I dont want to see. Kane burns MVP and MVP gets sent down to OVW for a little bit.

Or the way I would LOVE to see go down. MVP burns Kane, but not in the foot or arm. In his face. Kane gets burnt in the face and is forced to put the mask back on. Two months later, you can have Taker call out Kane or whatever or Batista vs Taker or whatever. Kane comes out, destroys both and then goes after MVP. I'm not saying it happens like this but for god's sake WWE, if you're going to rehash a storyline, and redo the Inferno match, burn Kane's face and have him put the mask back on.

The only reason I'd want to see Kane put the mask back on, is if he got a major push as a result. SmackDown!'s got shit for a WrestleMania main event, why not have Kane challenge Batista for the World Heavyweight Title. It may not be a wrestling classic, but I'd mark-out to see Kane win the big belt in a WrestleMania main event.

I'm still hoping that Joey Mercury turns on Nitro at December to Dismember, allowing The Hardyz to pick up the win, and potentially starting a feud on RAW between Nitro and Mercury.

Johnny Nitro vs. Joey Mercury with Melina's services on the line at New Year's Revolution? I'd pay to see it.

I really hope they split them up at the PPV. I'd turn Joey Mercury face and keep Nitro heel. These 2 are so good, you don't have to even put Melina's services on the line. I guess you could do it down the line but I would wait a bit. Maybe do it at the Rumble as one of the undercard matches for that night.

I'd have both guys in the Rumble, personally, but maybe at WrestleMania?

When I say services, I mean like Mercury gets Melina to do whatever he wants. That would be some serious babyface heat right there.

Mercury is probably the better wrestler of the two, Hell, he's probably the better talker of the two. When you add things up, Mercury has even more potential than Johnny Nitro. When you see how far Nitro has gotten, it's a little sad the WWE has no plans for Mercury.

It'll proably end up being the main event at Armageddon too, jesus christ have somebody new wrestle for the title. They don't have to win, it doesnt even have to be the PPV just do something good with it.

You want a solution to that problem??? Well that would be to end the fucking roster split. Seriously, seeing the same matches time and time again gets boring.
