I was kind of hoping Farooq would reform the Nation in a mentor capacity.
We've seen him repeatedly say "Damn" to Shelton.
He did it to Vis when Carlito spit in his face. I'm not sure if he has done it yet to Cryme Tyme but I'm sure there are many reasons to do so. Maybe have a breaking point for Farooq by seeing his "brothers" constantly drop the ball so to speak. At least I would find it refreshing. Get Vis out of that lame love machine gimmick and have Shelton start taking more of a leader stance with Farooq with obviously Shelton doing all the in-ring work. |

DAMN!
That's a good idea. Therefore it will not happen. |

I like that idea. Anything to help Shelton get a push is good in my book.

I was thinking about a Nation-type of stable when he returned. I'd say that a realistic stable would look like:
Simmons - Manager Shelton - Leader (Would eventually throw Simmons out) Viscera - The bodyguard (Sort of like Mark Henry, but backwards gimmick-order-wise) MVP - Filler Eugene - Drops the retard gimmick shoot-style and joins up with the Nation because he's fed-up with the company and the way they treat him (Obviously in Owen's role) |

Don't forget Teddy Long as Lawyer. Black men need lawyers.

Hell, make a storyline out of Coach becoming a lawyer. Have him off-screen for a few months, then Cryme Tyme gets into deep shit and need a Lawyer. They find Coach (who got his degree online) and have him fuck them over. Then we find out it was a setup all along and the Nation feuds with them. That sounds about what the WWE would come up with anyway. Last edited by Xero; 12-07-2006 at 03:25 PM. |

So wait, any other time they go to rehash an old storyline, idea, or stable, we piss all over it and whine about how it's gonna "destroy" their "legacy", but this is okay?

I like this idea, except I would add Elijah Burke also. I believe he would be a good mouthpiece for the group as well.

Anything would be better than what they're doing with Farooq now. Just for the record, I've only heard him say "Damn" twice since he's come back: the first time and the second time. Since then, every time I've watch Raw, I've watched it on my DVR with a minimum time delay of 30 seconds just so I can skip forward the instant I see Farooq. I hate the joke that much. I thought it was hilarious the first time I saw it. The next week they did it again, and I knew exactly what was going to happen, down to the t-shirt.

Rehashing old stables for the sake of doing it is lame.
Rehasing old stables because some guys desperately need something to do, and putting them together in this light makes ridiculous amounts of sense (except MVP...what?) is alright...I guess. I'd rather they be called something besides "The New Nation," but I guess we shouldn't pretend that's not what it is. Or something. |

I look at it this way: The WWE is going to rehash everything they ever had at one point, so we may as well armchair book it now.
I can't wait until they light a casket on fire with someone insid- oh, wait... |

There's definitely some great suggestions here. Doubt that Vince or anybody behind the scenes in WWE would care enough to look on a BBS site or most anywhere else on the web for a "resurrect (sp.?) the N.O.D." idea, but maybe they will give this idea a shot in the near future with some of our suggestions in here...it would be interesting, that's for sure ("interesting", in this context, however, should not be presumed as me meaning "compelling" in the way of entertainment or suspense, until it actually proves to be so...otherwise it'll probably just be sorta "meh...

Someone please check the Raw threads. . .there's at least five weeks of just me posting NEW NATION!!! in there. Seriously this is an easy one, ever since Benjamin came out and pulled a Kanye West it has been leading up to this.

Nobody cares about the Raw threads. Aren't they mostly about baseball/football/American Idol results anyway?

I'd love to see a new Nation probably because I loved the Nation. They were seriously a very underrated stable from the attitude era.

Yeah, new stables tend to suck, but there is a time and a place for everything. Ron Simmons has been a highlight of RAW, and Shelton Benjamin has potential to be. Just have them form a stable that looks something like this:
Faarooq: Drops the "Ron Simmons" name, and says that he is sick and tired of being treated like a joke. When this stable is booed, have him just snap and ask "Oh, OK, so a stale piece of crap like DX is welcome back, but when the black men get together, let's just this Nation down!". Elijah Burke: The guy has a bright future, and could be the break-out star of the new Nation. He can work, he's got charisma. I say go for it. Shelton Benjamin: With Faarooq as a mouthpiece, maybe he can go somewhere? Charlie Haas: In the Owen Hart role. Combine this Nation idea with the reunion of The World's Greatest Tag Team. Monty Brown: This would be entertaining as all Hell. Have him serve as the mid-carder, and Faarooq's hit man from the Serengeti. Jazz: Just have her work in the Women's Division, and bitch about how she was released because she wasn't a sex object, but she has more talent in one finger than the other Divas do in their entire plastic bodies. Rodney Mack: The Heat worker, and Jazz's husband. He's be used mainly as fodder for people starting feuds with the Nation. Maybe have him create his own "Harlem Championship" or something of the like? Viscera is a maybe, but I dunno, you don't want to over-do it. |

I do like the idea to a degree, and I do think that Simmons would be fanastic in the role described, but I also think that adding him into the mix could kind of give the stable too much a nostaligc feel that focuses too much on the past. Ted DiBiase's Million Dollar Corporation comes to mind - not that it was a bad stable, but I think the fact that it explicitly derived itself from a past gimmick took away from it.
Again, I like the idea, and am sure it could work your way, but knowing the WWE, they would probably give it the "LOD 2000" treatment. I say either don't include Simmons, or if you do, don't call him Farooq. Also, don't call it the Nation of Domination again, and don't have them do the black power signals, think of something else. It can be the same basic idea, but my thinking is that the less they can link it to the past, the better chance it will have of surviving. I think Evolution would have stuck out a lot less in people's minds if it had been another reincarnation of the Four Horsemen, and I think that rule generally applies to most gimmicks, angles and stables. Meh, whats the difference between this and every other rehash? Maybe have Simmons as Benjamin's mouthpiece but at this point in time its obvious that a good stable is beyond the realms of possibility with the current writing team...
